In April, 2016, I devoted my show's monologue to a shocking survey of British Muslims, and a UK TV report on the results. I'm re-posting it here, now, because it ties in all too well with this week's Islamic terrorist attack in Manchester.
What made that Channel 4 report so startling was that is was hosted by Trevor Phillips, the former Chair of the UK Equality and Human Rights Commission.
Twenty years earlier, Phillips had helped popularize the term "Islamophobia," and assured Britons that Muslim immigrants would integrate into British society, just like every other ethnic group.
In 2016, in the wake of Islamic terrorist atrocities at home and abroad, Phillips admitted he'd been wrong.
This survey of UK Muslims revealed some disturbing attitudes towards Jews and gays.
Particularly timely, since the bombing of a Manchester concert on May 22, was the number of Muslims who said they would report terrorist plots to the authorities.
The entire survey is here, as is Phillips' sobering Channel 4 report.
