“Fun burglars” at PETA attack Nintendo over cow-milking game

Sheila Gunn ReidRebel Host | The Gunn Show

People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals are a bunch of wet blankets. And like all left wing whack jobs, they can’t seem to just leave kids alone.

Want to see their latest lunacy?

PETA is mad that the Nintendo 1-2-Switch depicts cow milking as fun.

This is from their website:

PETA staffers and activists recently played the cow-milking game featured in Nintendo’s 1-2-Switch and realized that the company had taken all the cruelty out of the process. We have over 35 years of experience investigating dairy farms where cows are exploited for their milk, and it’s never that pleasant for the animals.”

Look I’m not much of a gamer and I am no vegan, that’s for damn sure. But I am from a farm so I also noticed some other things were absent from the game:

I noticed the cows weren’t real; there were no barnyard smells; that when you play the game you aren't actually sitting in barn; and no milk was coming out of any Nintendo controller.

Do these people know video games aren't real life?

Let kids have some fun, you stinky, fair trade, organic cotton wet blankets.

Deborah, The difference between a woman and a cow is that a cantankerous cow will give her calf a swift kick in the head if the calf causes her to much discomfort.

I agree Bettie, calves should be allowed to nurse on their mother for several weeks. That is what I do and the calves do much better as a result.

@Peter Netterville. Why aren’t the “just freshened” cows you talk about feeding their milk to their newborn calves? You wouldn’t prevent a human mother from nursing her newborn for at least a little while, would you? PETA may be crazy in a dozen ways, but objecting to the treatment of newly freshened cows and their calves is not one of them. (I’ve nothing against the NINTENDO cow milking game. No cows were harmed. God willing, eventually those children who play the game will grow up and learn the truth about the dairy industry.)

Any woman that has breast fed her babies, knows exactly how cows feel when they need to be milked. It’s painful if you don’t let nature take its course. PETA is an attack group for those who wish to destroy our food chain. I loved the farm, and I wish I still lived on one, because it truly is the best life ever. And you appreciate your food more, when you have grown it, and raised farm animals. PETA should be ashamed of their antics.

I have this sudden urge to play duck hunt.

LOL!!! You go gurl!!

Oh, and actually, cows like to be milked, as it relieves the pressure, and it’s a serious problem after a few days if they’re not. Just sayin’

Hey PETA video game cows are not real.

I guess it is spelled, “udder”, not “utter”

@ Ken Conrad & Ron Vandenburg

From the times I have milked cows, when they come in (esp. after just freshened), they practically knock you over to get to their stall. And when you get there to clean the teats (with a hibitane solution) to milk the cow, her utter is tight. I can guess that it would not be so comfortable, so I can see the cow falling asleep once the pressure is off.

Ken Conrad I know squat about diary cattle but it looks to me like milking a cow is relieving them in
the same way humans relieve themselves of a full bladder.

In PETA’s 35 years of ‘research’, I wonder if they ever came across a milch cow whose milking was late to determine what is unpleasant for a cow.

Doug, It can’t be that unpleasant…I’ve had them fall asleep on occasion while being milked.

All those poor 1s and 0s perhaps peta could open a (virtual) shelter to save them.

Wow. These PETA people sure must have to search hard to find these trivial causes like video games to throw their weight at.

(I was tempted to start the comment with “Holy Cow!” but thought that might be a bit over the top.)

“We have 35 years of experience investigating dairy farms … and it’s never that pleasant for the animals.”

Well, having grown up rural, I have 55 years of experience seeing dozens of smaller family-farm milk operations with a few hand-milked cows that were treated very well because they are an asset (cash cow?), and several large operations where the cows eagerly line up twice a day to get into the milking machine sheds, and are treated very humanely there too.

So while I am sure PETA has managed to uncover the odd operation where inhumane practices occur or sanitary conditions are lacking, their claim that it is “never that pleasant” is pure bunk. Milk cows may not be the smartest critters on the planet (as anyone who has ever tried to load any onto a cattle trailer can attest), but I am sure that if milking were that unpleasant, most of them would probably remember it since it is a daily occurrence, and at least moo their objection to it instead of calmly walking into the squeeze.
