Garland shooting: "We can't let other people's pieties dictate how we live in the 21st century"

Brian LilleyArchive

When I heard about the shooting outside the "Draw Mohammed" art exhibit in Garland, Texas, I immediately thought about the terror attack at the Ottawa War Memorial.

Back then, people tried to say that attack was motivated by anything but Islam.

That will be harder for apologists to do with the Garland case.

But that hasn't stopped the New York Times and others from trying.

Brian – the Garland Texas shooting was an attempt by ISIL cells to repeat the Charlie Hebdo massacre in Paris. The difference between the two events, and the outcomes can be stated in one word ; guns.

The second amendment is strong in Texas – had this been NYC or some other gun free zone, the result would be similar to Paris.

Three Cheers for Brian Lilley! (Actually, a lot more cheers than that.) After watching a CNN female anchor interview Pamela Geller today, the anchor’s bias was quite apparent. She interrupted Pamela Geller and gave her minimal air-time and that was even more unbalanced because Pamela’s pro-Islamic opponent was carefully listened to and given twice as much airtime. The final straw was tonight when I had the displeasure of reading another CNN-slanted pro-Islamist opinion penned by ‘Haroon Moghul’ so we know where he hails from. How pi$$ed off was I? I immediately removed a CNN icon from my desktop and CNN will not be seeing my IP address again (but the Rebel Media certainly will).
—My conclusion is that CNN has been as thoroughly infiltrated by Islam as is the White House itself. Free Speech is the cornerstone of democracy and we should never-ever entertain sugary twisted-logic from any opposing view that is counter to the American First Amendment enshrining Free Speech. As for the winning sketch of Mohammed (drawn by an ex-Muslim), I could not see that it looks much different than any other male Muslim in a turban (with a raised sword in his hand). You know, the whole chopping-off head / penalty-thing for literally anyone who does not share their backward 6th century ‘belief’s’.
-Our parent’s generation went-to-war to win our freedom and now the current generation gives our freedom away with every concession made to appease Islamism. Freedom of religion IS one of our values but freedom of violent intolerant totalitarian ideology is Not. Lest We Forget (and I don’t mean just one-day a year on November 11.

Earlier today an informed person suggested as a military tactic it is a great way to flush out the crazies as it is better to shoot them in a spot like Texas where people are armed to protect themselves, than deal with them at crowded malls in an unarmed New Jersey.

Yes, Peter,it’s amazing how really, really stupid ideas can often be expressed with such an expansive vocabulary and so much eloquence. Such is the skill of MSM. BS can be made to sound good. It just proves that well educated does not equate to intelligence, and that intelligence does not equate to wisdom.

Brian Lilley covered all the bases in his commentary. I agree 100%.

Maurice – “… they’re going to find out the hard way that supporting the radicals was a very bad idea.”

Yes, because their liberal lifestyle will be the first one targeted with violence. The MSM and their lemming followers are rather thick skulled, aren’t they?

What is so frightening about that is they think themselves the intellectually enlightened ones. Nothing could be further from the truth.

Hey Rick Hemmingson, please don’t do the enemy’s dirty work by comparing innocent victims of rape to pro-terrorist Islamist defenders and promoters of this attack.

Remember, the Islamists who attack our freedoms include in those freedoms the right to dress procatively without being attacked. That is to say, the Islamists agree with you that women who dress procatively deserve rape, control men’s rapes with a glimpse of ankle, that women are to blame for all rapes. That menstruating women are dirty. That women should dress in shrouds, should not attend school, should not leave the house, should be beaten.

Don’t agree with the enemy, for goodness sake!!

The MSM as usual shows it believes in “free speech for me, but not for thee, you lowlife joe sixpacks”

Good cartoon, BTW.

The same left wing cowards who claim that someone who exercises their freedom of expression “provoked” these radical muslims to acts of murder would never tolerate a claim that someone who exercises their (non-constitutional) right to dress in see-through clothing “provoked” a sexual assault. How does that work?

MSM will never change. They are politically correct cowards, aligning themselves with all things anti-free market, anti -free speech, anti-sematic, anti-Christian, pro-hedonism, pro-radical environmentalism, pro-global warming and pro-radical Islamism. They won’t come out and say it directly. Like I say, too cowardly. But when the Islamist jihadists have their way, aided by MSM, they’re going to find out the hard way that supporting the radicals was a very bad idea.

Muslims will never stop trying to impose Sharia Law on everyone. They have the wealth to corrupt our politicians and the birth rate to Influence elections. It is their right in our society to do so. It’s just a matter of time. It’s ironic that the fruit of our progress in human rights bears the seeds of their success.

This is just another islamic terrorist attack designed to intimidate “Freedom of Speech”.

And the socialists/marxists/communists/liberals/progressives want the same too – an end to “Freedom of Speech”. Along with a cashless society so these PIGS can track your every move.

Pamela Geller’s event was attacked because 1).She is a Jew, 2) ISIS directed local mjahids to attack the event, 3) The event was a rich target of anti-Islamists including Geller, Spencer and Wilders, 4) The event was a free speech convention, 5) the event included a draw-Muhammad contest.

Pretty much in that order too.
