For the first time in many years, I’m going to watch watch the NHL All-Star Game and it’s all because Kid Rock is booked to perform at the game in Tampa Bay this weekend.
Liberals are frothing mad because Kid Rock is one of the few in the entertainment industry who openly swings right-of-centre.
The most ironic crosschecking came via a sports website called SB Nation in an article with this unintentionally funny headline:
“Kid Rock’s NHL All-Star Game show undercuts hockey’s message of inclusiveness.”
The bit about inclusiveness refers to NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman’s statement last year that “the NHL family strives for diversity and inclusiveness.”
Wow! But, unless you’re talking about a group like Black Lives Matter, who doesn’t strive for diversity and inclusiveness these days?
He has a huge fan base, and is a hockey fan himself who cheers for the Detroit Red Wings, so this weekend, I’ll tune into the ghastly sporting spectacle, not to watch something that resembles ringette but rather, to catch Kid Rock’s act.
And to see if any snowflakes in the cheap seats have a meltdown under the balmy Florida sun!
