“It’s like sex!” 10 things I love about going to church

Gavin McInnesArchive

I was raised by atheist parents, so I'm a latecomer to the Catholic Church. I didn't realize how ignorant I was about Christianity before I started going to Mass every Sunday.

Now I love it and have ten reasons why.

Besides helping you feel connected to your community and your ancestors, going to church cures your hangover and is like sex.

WATCH to see what I mean...

Peter Babich:
Isn’t that a great documentary on Saul Alinsky? It was aired on EWTN in October.
Father Mitch Pacwa hosts two shows on EWTN (Catholic television). Threshold of Hope, Tuesdays at 2pm and EWTN Live, Wednesdays at 8pm (again at Thurs 1am). He had the producers of this documentary on EWTN Live and was very, very interesting.
Another good documentary coming up on EWTN is on euthanasia called Vulnerable, Nov. 30th at 10pm. Fr. Pacwa will interview those involved on his 8pm EWTN Live show that same day. It should be informative.

Fr. Pacwa is a walking encyclopedia! He has a photographic memory and is a fountain of information. Excellent communicator; speaks 10 or 11 languages. Pretty smart guy.

Point being, there is only one church, everything else is an assembly. The best part is being in a state of grace. When you understand the power everything else becomes petty. “If I am with you then who can be against you”

Speaking of which, the Dark Horse Beer company is now selling beer called ‘Scary Jesus Rock Star’. Not only are they anti-Christian, they are attempting to make a mockery of Jesus Christ and Christians.
They come across as kinda nice folks, but the name was derived not from something nice, it was derived from taking the Lord’s name in vain and incorporating it into the name of the beer.

They have zero respect (I say this from emails from them) for Christianity or using Jesus’ name. They don’t apologies for using Our Lord’s name in a disrespectful way, they instead blame it on the ‘chef’ who came up with the recipe. Perhaps they are skinheads or just wolves in sheep’s clothing who will do anything for a buck.

I wonder why they didn’t put Mohammed or Allah on the bottle.

Interesting take on belief. I will bet The Father and Son are shaking their heads, but marking it it up as another way to believe. Marking it up with all the the other billions of takes from believers, who have the free choice in how to believe.

I grew up as a Christian and was enlightened. I’m now an atheist.

I used to wonder why even intelligent people are religious but now have come to the realization it is a support mechanism for people who are afraid of the unknown.

Going to church and being a Christian are not really the same thing……
