“Join a nunnery”: Karl Lagerfeld slams #MeToo's spread into fashion industry

Amanda HeadRebel Contributor

Iconic fashion designer Karl Largerfeld isn't shy about expressing "controversial" opinions, like he harsh words Merkel's admission of "the worst enemies" of the Jewish people — meaning, Muslim migrants — into Germany.

Now he's in trouble for defending a stylist and friend accused of sexually inappropriate touching.

Lagerfeld explains something that should be obvious:

In the backstage bustle of the average fashion show or photo shoot, half-undressed models can't really expect not to have their garments tugged at.

On the good ship Politics ,all the leftists always rush unwittingly to the port side and end up capsized and drowning in the mess there created.

Always been a big fan of Largerfeld’s Photography and outspoken manner. As far as models feeling comfortable with poses. I had a model a few years ago, say that she felt that some of the poses were unnatural, as she would never position herself like that. I told her, what may feel odd in reality, looks amazing on film. And when doing a fashion layout, this more than not proves to be true. But of course you need to include some flattering elements, like wardrobe, lighting and background to create the most impact.
I remember they criticized Trump for being present in the dressing room of one of those beauty pageants. My first reaction was, Big Deal, there are all kinds of people in there, male and female. Agents, photographers, make up techs, designers, seamstresses, suppliers, at times it’s totally organized confusion at a large fashion show. I have shot at fashion shows in different locations, from Toronto to New York and it’s always the same. Largerfeld is correct, models, women and men are in different degrees of undress, it comes with the turf. There is probably less sexual intent going on in an environment like that, than there is in a typical office.
