"No, I will not check my privilege"

Lauren SouthernArchive

"White privilege" is a term we hear more and more. Where does it come from, and what does it really mean?

"Check your privilege" and "Educate yourself" are empty terms that progressives use to try to silence their opponents.

Progressives think they are "making the world a better place" by constantly reducing everything to matters of race and sex.

But I explain why this worldview actually makes society worse, and becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy.

What do you think? Tell me in the comments!

I’ve been trying to check my priviledge, Lauren — I can’t find it anywhere. It seems I’ve misplaced it…

Good Post Abu N. Very well stated.

Left wingers need to protect their privileged political class status by buying votes from people they’ve predetermined are society’s victims by virtue of having been born in a certain group they’ve decided don’t have a chance. This paternalistic practice has the purpose of replacing a meritocratic and productive economic class who produce goods and services people need with an unproductive political class whose aim is to permanently infantilize and cripple adults, turning them into children or dolls to be fed only to the point where they want more. The gap between their desires and satisfaction of those desires is, by their argument, held by a “privileged” political adversary who, in fact, are not privileges at all but attained their wealth through the merit of being productive. This is what they risibly call “social justice.” Their goal is twin slaveries: the poor on the one hand and the productive class on the other; the latter is taxed just to the amount where they don’t quite give up and the former are given the privilege of the latter’s “excess” money. That the terms “justice,” “privilege,” “greed” etcetera are completely perverted by them ought to be obvious and their definitions should be challenged at all times. Don’t get sucked into their terms. When they say you’re privileged, don’t say “I am not.” Say, rather, “No. It is YOU who are privileged” and explain how.

Well let’s see. I was born a healthy white child to a genius father and a successful ER nurse. Then they split up when I was about 5 and I fell into anxiety and depression. Friends became bullies and the stress made my hair start to fall out before I hit high school. Anxiety and depression made me shy even though I was a well developed young and made me ripe for bullying. High school was hell and I spent many lunches sitting all allown at my locker. Many times did I cry and my passive aggressive mother and my Hitler-like father who ruled through domination didn’t help. Nonetheless, I was well fed, and a 4 room house to live in, and never had to worry about clothing. I will admit I did have a few fun times but my shyness followed me and then led to panic attacks and my life of medication. I OD’d on heroin when I was 25 which gave me undiagosed brain damage. Then I spent many years as a pot head and minimum wage jobs. I did get one good job which I suffered a break down just like my previous jobs and now am on disability and my brain damage has caught up to me because my legs are messed up now. The only thing I have truly succeeded at is being a great father to a brilliant child. The moral of this story is that my white privilege did pretty much nothing for me and these pc’ers can kiss my ass.

We are ALL being told to check our privilege, heads up, its cultural Marxism decade. Look around, look closely, don’t things look a little skewed? Nothing is what it was.

I have never been told to “check my privilege”, but the best reply would be: Go F**k yourself.

“Equality” is …at best…an aspiration…at worst a Procrustean bed. Enforced egalitarianism has created the biggest pile of corpses in history…many times bigger than the one created by Genghis Khan. All of the Jews who died in the Holocaust…all of the Buddhists killed in Asia ….all of the Soviet conscripts killed in “the great patriotic war”…all of the massacres in Africa and Latin America….all in an attempt to ram the philosophy of Karl Marx down other people’s throats.

Wealth does not start out distributed…it starts out yet to be created….no artist would bother to create art if it was all destined to be distributed to others with no benefit to the artist…not even a thank you.

Robin Hood…if such a person existed…robbed from the"rich" …who became rich through a confiscatory taxation policy and gave to the “poor” who became poor through that same confiscatory taxation policy.

Imposing a confiscatory taxation policy and calling yourself Robin Hood is bullshit.

“Check your privilege " is an insult and the sort of thing the Jewish Police would have barked at Jews being herded into the “policy”…..

Say it to my face and I will consider it “fighting words”….an insult, a challenge, and an invitation to an Irish “London Dock Rules” brawl.

Adam. You are hung up on that “equal” thing….you have to make a decision as to which is reality …“quality” or “equality” …they are contradictory terms… means “of a sort” the other means “there is no perceivable difference”.

Conversation between a deciple of Marx and a deciple of Neitzche …..

Marx……“Don’t you believe in equality?”

Neitzche…“Are people equally willful?”

Marx…..“Well I suppose not…but I fail to see what THAT has to do with it”

Neitzche….“I know…that is why I don’t believe in equality and what’s more you can’t make me”

Now then Adam…..take a serious reassessment of “reality”….:-)

Adam…you sound something worse than kooky….you sound like the Jewish Ghetto Police in the Warsaw Ghetto….who may have been Jews to begin with but took their self loathing to a level of taking it out on other Jews. It has been my experience that the men who sing the loudest in this choir are either self loathing trust fund brats or men who have an out by being gay or disabled. Or who have a history of treating women rather shabbily and feel that ALL men must atone for it.

And like Gavin McInnes I have found that eloquent swan dives tend to get a bored yawn….Gavin likes the verbal “belly flop”…I prefer the big splash “cannon ball”… gets their attention.

Now then…if any of the t-shirt advertisers on this site happen to carry T-shirts that read CHECK YOUR WHITE TRASH PRIVILEGE YOU RED NECK HILLBILLY ….I would be in the market.

We need to clone Ben Carson, he would never tolerate anyone treating him like a victim. It is insulting. I don’t understand why Martin Luther King’s words are so ignored these days. Quality of character, not skin colour. Ability to do the job, not “what minority do we have to hire from this year to satisfy the quota.”
commented 2015-05-24 13:19:29 -0400
Adam said, " I can acknowledge that there are absolute advantages just being born white."

I wouldn’t dispute that, I just don’t see why I should have to apologise for it, or take a back seat because of it. That sounds familiar doesn’t it. It can never work for ANY skin colour, gender, minority. It IS reverse racism/sexism. It is NOT being “inclusive” it is the exact opposite. You are white, male, straight, have two legs, so we must handicap you so others can have what you have. It makes no sense. I didn’t think of it until I typed " have two legs", but this white privilege handicapping is a little bit “Animal House”. It is counter productive and serves no one.

Adam…I am more like John Rambo then you could possibly imagine. So I don’t need crowd funding like people who buy into the victim trip. I know more ways of stealing fire from the Gods than Prometheus eve learned and I don’t even need a “Rambo” knife….I learned how to put an edge on flint. And many times I rose from ashes like the Phoenix without calling in any favours of “white male privilege”.

So if you come on any forum where I am present playing self appointed commissar from Political Corrections Canada you better know the difference between “high ground” and “high horse”.

“White privilege” ranks right up there with “rape culture” — it’s a made-up label to create and foster a feeling of inferiority and discrimination, and this feeling is held by whatever group desires to maintain its status as “victim”. It abides in the ranks of the “activists”, and nowhere else.

I respect ALL people, until they demonstrate that they do not desire it. I have close acquaintances of each sex and many nations and racial backgrounds and skin colors. I have clients of many national backgrounds and languages and religions, and find each interesting. (To learn someone else’s language is a glimpse into another country and culture, which I find fascinating.) I play no favorites.

Where I take offense is the broad-brush tarnishing of an entire populace by using a label that applies to only a few. You call me a racist? Prove it. You call me a rapist? Prove it. You make accusations about how I think and feel? Prove it. Get inside my head and provide the documentation. Accusations are not proof. Only when you have this concrete evidence will I concede whatever point you’re trying to make.

There is less “injustice” in our culture than is suggested.

Does racism exist? Yes. Do hatreds (not phobias — those are fears) exist? Yes. Does prejudice exist? Yes. No argument to any of these questions. But here’s the kicker: Does racism exist across the nation in every person? No. So “white privilege” is a misnomer with false connotations. Does every male on every campus and worksite desire to forcibly ravish every female? No. Therefore “rape culture” is another misnomer with false connotations.

I refuse to accept a label that does not apply to me. I refuse to feel guilt over something I haven’t done. So all these social engineering activists that have some concept of how they think some idealistic utopian society should be run should begin at what really IS the beginning — change themselves. Then, perhaps, I’ll see said change and desire it myself. Forced, external change is never welcomed, and is often resisted. Legislated morality rarely succeeds. And here is where I’m the most dangerous — I’m an independent thinker, and an individual.

This is yet another reason why I don’t describe myself as a feminist :) And it explains why my genius younger brother, 4.0 Bsc and 5+ years work as a U of A Emergency RN (triage specialty), couldn’t get into a Canadian medical school. He’s finishing his 3rd year in Limerick, Ireland, paying 38,000 Euros a year for tuition alone. By the time you whittle away all the spots reserved especially for women, natives, other minorities and disabled people, and then factor in the international students paying full price (still 3/4 less than what my brother pays), there are barely any spots left for single, white Canadian-born males.
Back at the beginning of my BA, I had an argument with a school friend about affirmative action, and I’m still shocked by his reaction to my disapproval of the practice.
Lauren is once again right on point.

“Privilege” is getting into a university or getting a job or a promotion based on skin color, gender or creed, which definitely doesn’t apply to any more whites, males, or Christians. In fact, these people have been at the back of the bus for years now, thanks to so-called ‘affirmative action’ programs enacted by people who have bought into the false narrative that Lauren is now busy exposing. And thank you for that, Lauren, please keep it up and keep challenging the cultural Marxist dogma that is dragging our society into the mire of false expectations based on externalities instead of realistic expectations base on merit. What a pleasure to see a young person with such insight into this very destructive mess that the ongoing cultural Marxist takeover of our entire society has now produced.

Adam….have you ever been refused service at a restaurant?….I have.
Have you ever been refused lodging at an inn or hotel ?…..I have
Have you ever been been refused apartment rental?……I have
Have you ever been harrassed and searched by the police in public because of “profiling”?…..I have
Even though I have pink skin and the key to the city hanging down my left pant leg….I had hair and a beard.

After that I became a refugee in my own country when the cherished grudge of the French became policy.

After that I was a male student at Mount Saint Vincent University…Canada’s foremost bastion of feminist looney tunes…on a good day it was like being a Jewish stage hand at the Nuremburg Rally…on a bd day it was like Abhu Graib…

After that on four occassions I aced the qualifying lists of “staffing competitions” and placed first on merit…but got bumped off altogether in the name of “employment equity” .

Adam……you can have the privilege of kissing my ass until your lips blister.

Well Adam, I’ve read your comments and it sure is obvious that you’ve done some extensive research on the matter yourself. Really, from the insults to her intelligence to the assertion that you know exactly what it’s like being black, it sure is obvious you’ve got a very firm grasp on this topic!
Absolutely vicious, man. I personally have looked into this, and the deeper and deeper I look the less sense all this privilege stuff makes. Economically speaking, it’s simply daft. There is not a single employer out there who will hire someone less qualified for a position due to racism. There isn’t a single study I can find out there that says otherwise. Employers are looking for profit first and foremost, they could give a damn about race. Over the past 15 years twice as many white people have been shot and killed by police officers than black people, and yet you people claim cops are inherently racist. Government surveys show that black people are absolutely not more likely to be pulled over by police officers than white people are. This is all true friend, look into it before you call us idiots. The only studies that would say otherwise are exactly as larry said, done by the left wingers. Seriously, take some time and REALLY look into this from UNBIASED sources. You have fallen into what is little more than a philosophical trend turned dangerous, adn you are so caught up in your ignorance and fighting some imaginary fight it almost sounds like you’re trying to defend a new religion based entirely on faith.
commented 2015-05-21 20:40:09 -0400
Yes adam and all those extensive studies are done by left wing radicals at universities.

Instead of trying to lift everyone to their maximum potential, the perveyors of the “privilege” put-down are pushing the opposite. About 40 years ago, a friend (of my father’s generation) put it this way: “chopping all the trees down to the same level”. At the time, he was referring to the NDP but I see the tentacles have reached farther.
commented 2015-05-20 22:46:38 -0400
It pretends to be helpful to any person of colour, and to queers,( gender challenged, gay), at the expense of straight Caucasians. That is racist, but aside from that, it does no good for the minority’s who genuinely need a level playing field. It does nothing to bring us together. The only way to make any difference of any value and actually heal and advance as a society, is to be colour blind absolutely. The opposite is being promoted.

Having said that, who benefits from this divisive agenda? Those wanting to keep the weak, weak, and disrupt society by causing havoc. Homosexual behaviour has always been around, but promoting it starting from childhood is a tactic used to break down society. So is dividing us further with white guilt. It is just a way to try to control the masses and keep us in line so we will be more pliable, and less likely to fight getting on the Socialist, Marxist, Totalitarian, Communist ever popular global agenda bandwagon. We are all being groomed, it has been going on for a while, and we are only just starting to notice.
commented 2015-05-20 19:12:32 -0400
What I know is that just because I am a white Anglo male, I refuse to accept that I am somehow guilty of being white or that I am privileged. Nothing that has happened my life has indicated that I am somehow privileged. I have not been handed anything by society or the government. As a matter of fact, it is quite the opposite. I cannot access a lot of services simply because I am white.
commented 2015-05-20 14:38:32 -0400
I agree Liza – I’m white and that’s that, it’s called reality! I’m sure the Marxists will have their fits, but I need a good laugh now and then. I will never feel guilty for being born white, it’s not a disease, and it wasn’t a choice that I got to personally make. My maker made the choice for me. And I bow to his wisdom!
commented 2015-05-20 11:28:36 -0400
White guilt is a useless emotion. It helps no one. Perpetually confirming any minority’s right to victimhood keeps them down. Is that the point? Its time to cut the white privilege crap, it is insulting to all people. I hope Ben Carson has a chance of getting in in the U.S. He would undo Obama’s white guilt tripping damage in one term. Canada would benefit from that example. Tell a kid he is too weak, small, and ineffective long enough he will come to believe it. The whole premise of this white privilege culture is so counter productive as to be evil. The only effect of it is negative. The only effect is people control, just another weapon of the Marxists.
