Ontario Court rules against Islamic “cultural norms”

Jay FayzaRebel Columnist

The Ontario Court of Appeals has made a landmark decision, ruling that cultural norms cannot be used to justify lighter prison sentences.

A ruling that was made after a lower court convicted an Iranian immigrant of sexual assault and he received an 18-month sentence.

That's an 18-month sentence for a man who forced his wife to have sex with him and would rape and beat her nightly.

The reason for such a light sentence?

The lower court judge cited the "cultural gap," noting the accused didn't even know what he was doing was illegal.

Fortunately, the victim and her lawyer appealed the decision.

WATCH my video to see why I believe this decision calls for increased vetting of immigrants coming to Canada.

Jan G said, “Too bad we couldn’t ask President T. to buy Canada.”

I’m not sure he’d want to buy Canada. I wouldn’t.

I would. Then would be private property and I could control who is allowed in.

Liza, the infiltration into politics (all levels); policing; school boards is staggering. Muslim student associations, muslim charities which later is proven to have ties with terrorism and money laundering, political affiliations donating to the campaigns. The invasion has been on so many levels, and is largely unnoticed.

Liza Rosie, no worries, it’s hard to keep track of the wife beaters; Canada keeps importing them!
I think hockey stick beater got 8 days, and 1 year probation.

Can you believe who our Attorney General is? No Islamic infiltration goin on in Canada. People do not have a clue. All this is happening right before their eyes.

Lee Horsman, yeah , can we have that in stone, is right!

Oops, my mistake Tammie.
Jeez, he only got 9 days for beating his wife with a hockey stick?

Again we see a Canadian court slamming the brakes on the idea of granting “cultural discharges.” Personally, I see this decision as a re-affirmation of the Shafia verdict and sentencing, where the judge said no effing way to the idea of justifying murder because it was motivated by “honour.”
“The apparent reason behind these cold-blooded, shameful murders was that the four completely innocent victims offended your twisted notion of honour, a notion of honour that is founded upon the domination and control of women, a sick notion of honour that has absolutely no place in any civilized society.” -Judge Robert Maranger

Please, can we get that carved in stone?

It can and will be over turned legislatively if the islamic Canadian attorney general has his way – bet you I am correct!

Liza Rosie, this is a different conviction.
The coffee drinking, cigarette smoking, porch sitting parasite was sentenced to 8 days in jail for beating his wife with a hockey stick for half an hour.

Mr. Fayza,

You are so clearly an old stock, straight, evangelical, male, whitey. So what do you know? :)

Increased vetting?

Why?

We are letting them walk in now.

How about we simply close the doors and start deporting?

TheRebel does a lot of petitions,. There’s two that they don’t do, and I’m amiss t understand why. 1) a petition demanding the prosecution of Imams preaching hate, and 2) a demand for vetting of immigrants.

I’m not sure that vetting is really going to change anything, even if you could get our Liberal Overlords to make the effort.

Think about it. If this kind of treatment of women is normal and not illegal in Iran, how do you expect the person doing the vetting to discover that the person has actually done these things? I’m really not sure how vetting is done but reason suggests that our Immigration people contact the Iranian authorities and ask whether the individual in question has a criminal record of any kind. If the brutality described in this case is not against the law in Iran – or if the Iranian system ignores such actions even if they are technically against the law – then a records check is going to come up clean and this individual will not raise any red flags. And that assumes the Iranians are being honest with us. For all we know, the individual wishing to come to Canada simply has to pay a bribe to get his record ignored.

What other ways do we have to find out about the individual? We could ask him directly of course but what do you think he’s going to say to us? “Sure, I beat my wife all the time because it is her duty to have sex with me whenever I want according to the Koran and she doesn’t always come across.” Well, he might. Or he might take the precaution of asking the Iranian equivalent of an “immigration counsellor” what to say for his interview and that person might well suggest he simply lie and say that he is a kind man who would never dream of intimidating a woman. Even if the person vetting him thinks he’s lying, does that mean the candidate gets refused? I wouldn’t count on it. I’ll bet our rules are saturated with “political correctness” and state that the vetter’s judgements should not be taken seriously because he/she might be sexist, racist, Islamaphobic, etc. In other words, take the candidate’s word for it that he’ll fit in here very well despite any and all evidence to the contrary.

Maybe for your next piece, Jay, you could go undercover in Immigration – or find a source there – and find out how vetting really proceeds and whether it’s even realistic to think it is going to screen out the bad people trying to get into this country. I certainly have my doubts about the effectiveness of vetting but I’d love to be proven wrong.

For what it’s worth, I think you may find some Immigration employees who are disgusted with the whole system and are only too eager to spill the beans. I still remember a news feature I saw in Toronto once twenty-odd years back. Some Immigration officials at Pearson Airport deployed a hidden camera to show the kinds of refugee claimants that they had to let in every day of the year, despite really ludicrous claims. I remember one clip they released to the news where they asked a black man with an accent why he wanted to claim refugee status. He said he feared for his life if he went back home. I immediately had a mental picture of some African being tormented because he didn’t belong to the tribe in power or something of that kind. They asked him about his situation. It turned out that he was “fleeing” the United States, where he managed rock bands! It was pretty obvious that they wanted to put him on the next plane back to the US but apparently their rules didn’t let them; he still had to be allowed to speak his piece at various hearing and appeals. (At the time, I believe there were NINETEEN levels of appeal if the Immigration and Refugee Board did not find in your favour at the initial hearing.) I’ve got to believe there are lots of staffers who are appalled at how lax our rules are and would love to leak you information on just what they deal with every day.

Let’s hope Trudeau isn’t secretly paying the legal bills with our taxes for this criminal. Actually let’s hope the guy is a senior citizen or he may end up with a windfall for some kind of fake abuse suffered by the authorities. ‘Cause if we’re not careful Trudeau’s pay outs will become a cultural norm.

His problem; he didn’t attend the Ralph Goodale De-radicalization Getaway Spa before marriage and entering Canada. That would have certainly been the difference maker.

It is not like the courts are taking away the family breadwinner by throwing this rapist wife beater in jail , they are all on welfare anyway.
Give him a choice, Jail or go back to Iran. Better yet just send the bugger back to Iran. Why should we pay for his incarceration. Even better than that, send the whole fam damily back to Iran. Why should we pay their way for the rest of their lives? They are a drag on our country in every way. This family is a shinning example of what we do not need to bring in. The wife can barely speak three words of English despite lessons by a personal tutor paid for by us. The kids are just as likely to grow up resentful of Canada instead of grateful to it.
The house they put them up in is nicer than many Canadian’s have to live with, and we worked for ours, we didn’t have it handed to us.
Send this coffee drinking, cigarette smoking, sitting on the stoop all day, lazy ass, barbaric rapist, back to Iran. Resentful, sick of it? In spades, in spades!
Awesome commentary Jay.

I’m starting to think that Trodope is realizing he will not win the next election, so he’s doing everything possible to make Canada such a mess that the next PM will never be able to get it back in order again.
Too bad we couldn’t ask President T. to buy Canada.

Proper vetting of immigrants is definitely necessary and the first place to start … as they enter the country … but PM Justin “The Feminist Muslim” TrueDope will have none of it.

Though the Ontario Court of Appeal overturned the judge’s rationale and light sentence (thank God); the sentence that was handed down amounts to a slap on the wrist. Did the conviction also include this rapist be added to the sex offender registry?
Without knowing whether he was charged with multiple counts of sexual assault or not; my immediate question is, were all avenues pursued to lay as many charges as possible? Such as, a separate charge for each night she was beaten and raped; assault causing bodily harm; forcible confinement; uttering threats or death threats….

What I find so troubling is, there are probably countless cases which have not gone to Ontario Court of Appeal. How many judges have handed down similar light sentences and used the improper explanation of “cultural gap” to pervert justice?!!

Proper vetting is paramount, but, this government is opposed to carrying this out.
