PewDiePie was one of the first YouTubers I ever subscribed to as a kid. He’s the most subscribed YouTuber, with over 50 million subscribers, and he deserves every one.
Recently, the Wall Street Journal published an article outlining the spikes in PewDiePie’s racist jokes, specifically Jewish jokes. They also believe his jokes are helping normalize anti-Semitism.
This led to YouTubeRed dropping the second season of his show Scare PewDiePie. Then Maker Studios, owned by Disney, also dropped him.
I’ll show you the videos they say are anti-Semitic.
To provide context for one of them: PewDiePie is satirizing Youtube Heros, a procedure YouTube recently rolled out making it easier to report and ban other users. PewDiePie’s satirical take is that Youtube Heros are censorship-hungry, content-leaching Nazi sheep. I’m inclined to agree.
Do I think PewDiePie went too far?
Considering the context and intent of his jokes, no.
But in his case, the lying leftist Internet news media did.
