There’s a common misconception that science faculties at universities are free of the kind of political correctness that results in the silencing of debate and opinions, but this simply isn’t true.
This is particularly evident when it comes to real scientists who question climate science.
Scientists like Curry and Ball are dismissed as “fake” which has the effect of rendering their remarkable bodies of lifelong work reduced to only their opinions on a contentious subject where there are legitimate concerns about the data.
The crazy thing is these scientists don’t deny that climate is changing yet they’re being completely delegitimized simply for doing their job of questioning science.
So what happens to science when we shut down debate? Who would the real fake scientists be in that situation?
Whether or not you agree with opposing opinions, this is the way science progresses and evolves. Science is never settled and must always be questioned.
But just like the silencing of ideas that’s happening to academics who refuse to bend to the thinking of the day on gender and social issues, so are the ideas of those in the sciences who dare to criticize climate dogma.
