(UPDATE) Bible censors at Alberta school board “playing favourites with the media”

Sheila Gunn ReidRebel Host | The Gunn Show

I have another update of the Battle River School Division (BRSD) and their fight with the Cornerstone Christian Academy over the right to teach Biblical scripture.

(You can see all of our ongoing coverage of the anti-Christian actions of BRSD at TheRealBigots.ca)

Now, through a Freedom of Information request, I got hold of an email from the school board to an Alberta Education bureaucrat, regarding an official statement the board was issuing:

“The attached will be posted to our website and most likely shared with ‘legitimate’ media outlets."

Government in any form — be it an out-of-control rogue school board or the provincial government — does not get to decide what is “legitimate” media and what isn't. It's called freedom of the press

For BRSD, legitimate means "friendly” — like the Edmonton Journal, whose approach to covering this story has seemed biased in the Board’s favour.

Their totalitarian stunt with Cornerstone Christian Academy shows how little they respect or even understand freedom of religion, freedom of expression and now freedom of the press

Revelation 22:19

And if anyone takes words away from this scroll of prophecy, God will take away from that person any share in the tree of life and in the Holy City, which are described in this scroll.

- Leftists don’t want journalists, they want cheerleaders posing as journalists. Hand them the Muslim holy books & ask them to start banning politically incorrect passages there as well – like that would ever happen.

Edmonton has more communists then Toronto has rats.

The problem, Louise, is that pastors can be intimidated. Most do not earn a lot of money, and if they have to go to court it can financially bankrupt their lives. Which can be devastating if they have a family. Many people in churches are of the opinion that pastors should not earn much money anyway because “that is not very spiritual”! Believe me – I have had to deal with this. So, many are underpaid in line with their training, experience, and responsibilities.
As well, how many people are going to come along and throw in $1000 to help a pastor with lawyer fees? Not many that I know of. So if the pastor does not buckle, he will often get thrown under the bus.
There are other issues involved, but that is my personal take on it all, as a former pastor. They all need lots of prayer and support, and definitely encouragement to not cave in but to speak the truth, in love!

There are no freedoms in a sociologist, Marxist, Communist society. How many of us have they killed or tried to? Don’t forget, Pierre Trudeau was the leader of the communist party but joined the liberals because they had the same platform.

What were the results of the Board election Oct 16?

While this is great reporting, it is too bad that it could not have come out Oct 2.

It seems to me that these attacks are also an attempt to muzzle pastors from using certain biblical references in their churches also. I don’t believe the bullying stops at christian schools, Ndp are trying to put a stranglehold on our faith itself. I hope that ministers are not intimidated by these bullying attempts.

Unfortunately this is the kind of conflict that arises when private schools accept government funding. For years I have counselled against accepting government money, either in Christian schools or churches, knowing that, though the bureaucrats come across as friendly and cooperative in the beginning, it is only a matter of time before they are bringing their hammers to your doors. It is why we always just paid our taxes and home schooled out of our own pockets, on one low pastor’s salary, without creating a stink. We have many friends who send their kids to Christian schools, and they simply bite the bullet as well and pay the costs because they know the value and are simply investing in their kids’ futures.
Getting some financial support from the government looks attractive, and seems fair, but as soon as you sign on you are doomed down the road somewhere.
Unfortunately Alberta took the plunge and it will only get worse. I hope and pray that Ontario Christian schools never go that route. The government needs to be kept out of our parenting when it comes to education.

If you ask yourself where do all these ideas come from, the answer is invariably Karl Marx. Why fool around with nice cozy names like progressive or socialist. All these school boards are filled with communists.

Parents who have children at Christian Academy School should also file a Human Right’s complaint, seeking major compensation from the Battle River School Division.
