After moving from Canada to Israel to join the Israeli Army, in 2014 Gill Rosenberg became the first female to join the Kurds fighting ISIS.
In this EXCLUSIVE broadcast interview, she explains that learning of women and children being raped and tortured in Iraq and Syria prompted her to volunteer to battle ISIS.
Rosenberg explains that her Jewish heritage, with its principle of "Never Again," inspired her to fight against this new genocide.
She details the battles she fought in alongside other female soldiers, and her close call with a suicide bomber.
She says ISIS seems very organized and well funded; the West "needs to wake up and help the Kurds", Christians and Yazidis before it is too late," Rosenberg says, adding:
"The Kurds love Israel, America and Canada" and want more support, while she acknowledges that Canada's military "is pulling more than their weight."
