"What a disgrace": Notley snubs U.S. Congressional delegation to Alberta oil sands

Ezra LevantRebel Commander

The U.S. purchases about 99% of Canada's oil exports. Sometimes American leaders from both parties visit the oil sands to see them for themselves.

A Congressional delegation visited last week, headed by Republican presidential candidate and powerful senator, Lindsay Graham.

Saskatchewan Premier Brad Wall personally escorted them around, while lobbying for the Keystone XL pipeline.

When the delegation stopped off in Alberta, though, Premier Rachel Notley refused to meet with them.

What a disgrace.

It was only when the Wildrose opposition party embarrassed them that the NDP scrambled into action.

Do you need anymore proof that the NDP hates the oil sands?

Alberta’s NDP is using a fake "public survey" to push climate change policy.

Jimmy, good idea not to come to my province of Alberta, you would likely be roped and drug to a branding fire where you would be casterated and branded an idiot

This story is not surprising. What else would you expect from socialists? Certainly not common sense. Ideological nonsense.
commented 2015-09-07 13:26:19 -0400

Fair enough.

For me, I would have absolutely no desire to live in Canada’s Texas, where the white trash rednecks and marrying cousins fly high. Where the Calgary Stampede is considered the height of culture and sophistication.

Yee haw!

“Bite the hand that feeds you.”,“Kill the goose that lays the golden egg.” “Cut off your nose to spite your face.”…..These about sum up Ms. Nutley’s attitude towards the oil sands!
Yes, I looked at the article about the Conservative candidate “peeing” into a cup. This happened in 2012, long before he became a candidate. Some NDP and Liberal candidates have done a lot worse AFTER becoming candidates! Have they done “the honorable thing” and resigned as candidates? I am sure Ezra had an article about an NDP member of legislature who had a criminal conviction! How did one commenter put it – He paid his debt to society for something that he did in his youth…" This bespeaks of hypocrisy.

When will you fuck off Brinkman? We are all tired of your lies, your advertising for your socialist rag, and the phony character you play on this forum. You are a waste. Fuck off you sniveling weasel!

Shut up Brinkman you worthless parasite

Cough up your$1000 Nathan W because I’ll say a word about it. Do you honestly think that an equally zealous muck raking would not find similar or worse things about Liberal or NDP candidates?

Elsewhere on CBC today was the stocking…..GASP…..revelation that a report from Status of Women Canada reads more or less exactly like every previous report from SWC. I know this because I have been following such things with far more interest than anybody I am acquainted with can seem to give a shit no matter how much I rant about it.

Elsewhere in the CBC news today half of Canadian wage earners earned below the average income…..shame on those who earned above it.

For lack of editing I flagged my last 3 posts because afterwards I thought it was inappropriate for me to have used other peoples names who are not in any way connected to my YouTube titled: A Bloody Hell Night on the Steps of the Alberta Legislature

I have requested to The Rebel forum administrator to remove all 3 of my last posts from this forum.
I would like to extend my apologies to everyone here on the forum, and to Ezra Levant, The Rebel Media, Conrad Black, Jonathan Kay, Alex Jones, Stephen Harper, Neil Young, James Cameron, Woody Allen , David Lynch and Rachel Notley.
No malice was intended on my part.

By the way last introduction to my film “A Bloody Hell Night on the Steps of the Alberta Legislature” Is purely satirical… None of the Characters in this film production were actually real life people like EZRA LEVANT, CONRAD BLACK, JONATHAN KAY, ALEX JONES, THE TRUMP & STEPHEN HARPER, NEIL YOUNG, JAMES CAMERON, AND RISING SENSATIONAL STAR RACHEL NOTLEY

Given his talent I’m certain Ezra Levant could be a Hollywood film maker too…

Is everyone loving Jimmy’s responses. I love it when the left look so stupid. Jimmy wrote “How about Alberta get away from oil and gas”.
How about Ontario refusing its transfer payments because it came from oil and gas? Wynne opposing the energy east pipeline is hypocrisy at its best. Do these idiot left wingers not see what happens with the funds of the oil we buy from the middle east? Are you sure the majority of the world wants to live in New York Jimmy? The smarter people of the world are all moving out of supercities and their social and health issues. And what is this love affair with Toronto? If you think Toronto is the city for restaurants, fashion, and style, then you are pretty shallow and uncultured Jimmy. Not even fit to be a redneck. In my last trip to Toronto, some Muslim told me that I was going to hell for being a Christian.

Joan Abernethy posted this on the comments from the Fin Donnelly article. Here is a little taste of Toronto culture for you. Jimmy, don’t look at what the video is saying. Notice the trendy shirt. it puts Toronto on the map.

I am not sure if you understand how finance works.
If you province no longer receives equalization payments, they have make those billieting na up another way. As most politicans resort to taxes when they need revenue, more so with leftist governments, this would mean to you less money in your pocket due to increas d taxation.
On the topic of New York or Alberta:Texas, I am not quite sure I understand how this fits into a conversation on the ineptness of the alberta NDP government but I’ll play along.
Not sure if you have ever been to New York but rest assured your leftist views will be beaten out of you in the capital of captalism. Your redistribution of wealth views will not be well received on Wall Street. Ironically, people with your views often live in the Mid west or as I believe it was referred to earlier “flyover states that no one gives a fuck about”.
In fact, I am certain your socialism NDPism would not be well recorded in Toronto’s financial sector either. All the “cool” trendy places that you claim Toronto boasts over the west that have the best restaurants, the best shopping, the best style would be crawling with financial sector people, lawyers and other well doing individuals. None of which are looking to redistribute their wealth I might add.
I am glad that you have found a spot under a rock in Toronto with like minded fools. Just understand that the rest of the country that is governed by common sense far out numbers left wing radicals such as your self.

I have always said leftists destroy democracies, they say they are inclusive but they are far from it. Every NDP say they hate oil but yet they heat their home and drive their cars with it, use cell phones and numerous other plastics made from oil. They are like a bad parent, do as I say, not as I do.
commented 2015-09-07 05:19:23 -0400
Jimmy if I won a trip to Toronto as a door prize I wouldn’t bother going. It does have a large urban gay ghetto so I suppose this is home turf to you. Toronto has polution that rivals the worst days in the Alberta oil patch, it is rude, it is mean spirited, it has gangs that are trigger happy, it has some of the meanest cops in Canada.
commented 2015-09-07 03:52:23 -0400
If you don’t like the oil sands in Alberta, all the lefty liberals & NDP lovers down east in Ontario land ( Kathy Whynn territory) should have their transfer payments substantially reduced. Then all thoes liberals & NDP lovers would have to be on EI or welfare because their standard of living would change. That is what should be done! Then thoes liberals and NDP lovers would loses everything until they have their eyes opened ( if that is even possible). Under Trudeau ( child) man, & Mulclair (socialist) canada’s economy would be put in a mess! There would be lots of taxes & jobless Canadians!

I bet 1000:1 that Rebel Media will not say a word about the Conservative candidate who peed in someone’s cup while at their house.
The only “news” that matters is that which discredits the left.
commented 2015-09-07 01:15:09 -0400

Why would the majority of the world prefer to live in New York over white trash redneck Texas?

You get my point.
commented 2015-09-07 01:10:19 -0400

Why would a place that boasts some of the most beautiful mountains in the world, sulfur hot springs and Connor McDavid want to emulate the armpit of Canada? Not to mention one of the world’s largest oil reserves that is worth billions. You can keep your restaurants, fashion, style and shopping. It seems that you have many of the same interests as a 16 year old girl. Trust me, if I ever have a daughter, I am sure that I will be able to afford to take her to enjoy all those things that you mention in a place much better than Toronto.

How about Alberta gets away from oil and gas and become a trendy place where Hollywood comes to shoot the next Batman movie instead of Toronto or Vancouver. Become a media town so to speak. Get away from the whole horses and farming and crap – have the finest restaurants, culture, fashion, style, shopping, etc. Be the media capital of the world. Put Alberta on the map. :)

Lol. Do all socialists cherry pick portions of explanations that suit their need? If so we are in for a long 3.5 years.on the topic of shitty leadership, Notely is on track to blow the oc’s out of the water. If your province was receiving equalization payments before, get ready to start heading money over to Alberta now! This is the socialist way is it not. Those who are doing well help out those that are not?
commented 2015-09-07 00:38:29 -0400

Like with all things in life – there are bad seeds everywhere and people who take advantage of the system/people – this is just as true of the rich and those that “contribute to society” The bottom line though is that across the board – the good far outweighs the bad. You don’t throw the baby out with the bath water.

In all actuality – the people who are rich and contributing to society are doing far worse damage – as we have learned from Wall Street and the many people who should be in jail right now. Your friend in the carpet business taking chump change from the government isn’t remotely comparable.
commented 2015-09-07 00:36:05 -0400
Ezra has a hyperbolic way of stating his point that requires the listener to do a bit of research on his/her own, but I’ve yet to catch him in an outright lie.

I don’t believe that the NDP ‘hate’ Alberta, but I do believe that they now see themselves with four short years underwhich to transform the province and try and veer it away from oil and gas. The irony of course, as they bemoan the current budget deficit, is that their attempts to push Alberta away from oil and gas would reduce the very revenues they are currently bemoaning.

It’s too bad. I was hoping that the NDP would use the opportunity to become more mainstream…but I don’t believe that will happen.
commented 2015-09-07 00:32:25 -0400

That is what sometimes happens in elections when there is poor leadership and a government that has done a shitty job . The other party gets elected.
commented 2015-09-07 00:29:42 -0400
Jimmy Da Silva asks…why did the NDP win in the province of Alberta.

I don’t think there is any one reason they won, and I think you will find as many reasons as there are voters…but personally I think they one because they were able to galvanize the ‘left’ vote behind Notley. The Liberal party was disorganized and the leader came across completely helpless during the debate, and so the ND gained from the Liberal party collapse.

Similarly, the PC/Wildrose which represents roughly 60% of voters, was almost perfectly split.

I don’t think Alberta voted NDP. I think they voted for a change.

Hey, don’t knock down Texas. The Cowboys are going to win the Superbowl this year.
let me give you an example. You probably like " Employment Insurance right" ? In theory, I like it too.Canada is rich enough and generous enough to help out someone who loses his job financially until he finds another job. Sounds very noble. Now let me show you reality Jimmy. I have a friend who works in the carpet business in Montreal. This carpet retailer has six installers working for him. These installers are on payroll until they qualify for EI. Then they continue to do the same work as before but now they are collecting EI. The owner pays them the difference in cash. And a little extra to keep their mouths shut. When EI runs out, they go back on payroll until they qualify for EI again Apparently in Montreal, if you don’t practise this. You need a better accountant. If the government gives the ability for someone to screw the system, they will. It is human nature. This kind of stuff is rampant. I have heard of refugees that come into Canada. Suck from our coffers for a year and then bring in their families with millions of dollars with them. If Mulcair or Trudeau come into power, these abuses will multiply. To me, the less degrees of socialism we have, the better it is.

Our Prime Minister leaves about $6,000 more in my pocket every year. If Mulcair comes into power. Psychologists will spend most of my 6k on hundreds of hours rehabilitating our prisoners to no avail. And billing the government at $300/hour.

Torontonians spend 4 hours a day in their cars. This is as world class as Canada gets????? You sleep eight, you work eight. So you spend half your free time driving. Spare me this type of world class.

As an Alberta resident, I can tell you that the NDP was in the right place at the right time and Forrest gimped their way in to office. They won because of the past pc party history and recent poor leadership. The wild rose floor crossing was the nail on the albertan coffin. After that the right vote was split and voila we have our first communist…… I mean socialist governing party in Alberta. Based on the 6 billion dollar debt that have ammassed in 4 months, I am really looking forward to the future :(.
commented 2015-09-07 00:04:51 -0400
Maybe you should ask yourselves – why did the NDP win in Alberta. It’s not just that people are stupid or whatever else you want to say. Obviously the previous government was failing them and a change was demanded right or wrong.
