'You Are My Slave': School Ends Civil War Reenactment Activity

Rebel Staff

Politically correct liberals scored yet another victory this week when a Georgia school was forced to end a traditional Civil War dress up activity.

School officials say there will be no more Civil War-related student dress-up activities at a Georgia elementary school after its “Civil War Day” sparked conflict among students, parents and others.

Big Shanty Elementary School last month invited fifth-graders to dress up as characters from the war.

The mother of a 10-year-old black child says a white student dressed as a plantation owner approached him and said, “You are my slave.”

In a Thursday letter to the mother, Corrie Davis, a Cobb County assistant superintendent assured that student dress-up activities related to the Civil War have come to an end at the school about 25 miles northwest of Atlanta.

This comes as liberals all over the country continue to try to erase any references to the Confederacy. Now, liberals are even triggered by little children learning about their history in a fun way with a Civil War dress up activity. The positive part of learning about American history is learning about the mistakes our nation has made so that we will not repeat them. Making the Civil War and slavery a taboo subject only makes it more likely that history will repeat itself.

Furthermore, fighting against slavery and the Confederacy is a complete waste of time given the fact that they both ended over 150 years ago. There is not a single person on Earth today who was alive even close to the 1860s, and no living person should ever be forced to answer for the sin of their ancestors. No, leftists, slavery is not the fault of the white people who are living today!

Stephen E, what’s being taught isn’t history. Historical truths don’t matter to Marxists.
Revising history is on the menu, and, pushing the “white privilege” agenda.

What about having a Collect Welfare Day, and have the children dress up like what they perceive welfare collectors to look like. Would that make the school happier?

All it took was one ten year old, who was probably joking, to say something stupid and that was that.

BTW, there were white slaves and black slave owners in the South. I do hope that that is being taught. Slavery was not an only black issue. And don’t forget that the slaves were gathered up by black Africans, sold to Arab slavers, and transported by ship to all parts of the world.

One of the main causes of the War of 1812 in the Americas was due to British ships stopping slave ships in an effort to end slavery. I hope that is also being taught.
