The town of Sderot is only one kilometre from the border between Gaza and Israel and it’s on the front lines of the constant terror campaign against Israel.
Sderot’s 23,000 residents are just a short mortar shot away from groups like Islamic Jihad and Hamas.
Up to 75% of kids in Sderot have some form of post traumatic stress symptoms. The playground bomb shelters and schools with fortified roofs are just a part of everyday life.
When I was in Sderot, I spoke to Eddy Arzan. Sderot is his hometown and he’s a dad. Eddy told me what it’s like to try to raise his kids in the shadow of Islamist terror and he tells me why he’s not leaving the place he calls home.
