Last night, the Alberta legislature unanimously voted to support Motion 505. Well, sort of...
Motion 505 brought forward by Wildrose MLA Prasad Panda reads:
“Be it resolved that the Legislative Assembly urge the federal government to develop strategies to facilitate the building of pipelines within Canada to ensure security of supply to the Canadian market thereby shifting Canada away from buying oil from countries with oppressive dictatorships”
Total no brainer motion, right?
You’d have to be a total nut bar to not support this motion. You’d have to hate your country and have zero empathy for the hundred thousand or so people in the energy sector in Alberta who have experienced some form of joblessness since Notley's crazy policies met the downturn in oil and gas.
The NDP: “Hold my beer”
WATCH my video to see an NDP MLA named Chris Nielson orally vote against the motion before having to be whipped into voting yes. You’ll never believe the lame excuse he gave me for voting against Alberta jobs. He said he was just joking around!
I don’t believe Nielson. I think he was being honest. But even if he was joking, the unemployed energy workers in Alberta aren’t laughing at his stupid games.
