Democrats want to abolish the Electoral College: Why this is a terrible idea.

Amanda HeadRebel Contributor

For all of you bums who slept through civics class, here's why it’s a terrible, terrible idea to abolish the Electoral College. And I've got the Federalist Papers to back it up!

Lefties are upset that super smart elites in New York and California aren't able to override middle America. But the system that they're railing against is working exactly as the Founding Fathers intended.

For a modern example, look at Wyoming:

During the 2016 election of Donald Trump, Wyoming gave all three of its electoral college votes to Donald Trump who took 67 per cent of its popular vote. With a state population of approximately 577,000 people, its perceived oversized influence on the outcome of elections is part of Elizabeth Warren's renewed call to get rid of the electoral college.

WATCH now and learn the history and facts you need to push back against the Democrats who can only win by gaming the system.

Andrew Stephenson why should one state dictate to another? If they get rid of the EC then many states will leave , what part of that eludes you?

Andrew Stephenson my vote is worth less than a vote form Ontario or Quebec, so push for change here to be fair. And maybe the left will move away from tyranny if we are lucky.

Edward Jobin Andrew is too ignorant to realize Facts.

Andrew Stephenson: There would not have been a United States if they hadn’t set up the electoral college, as those smaller states were not about to join some union in which all of their rights were decided by a few large cities, who would grab all the power for themselves, and not be interested in representing the smaller states. It should also be noted that Abraham Lincoln would have never won the election if it weren’t for the electoral college. Like it or not Democrats cannot simply change it by themselves, so they need to put that idea to rest.

One person, one vote. Fairest system. The value of your vote should not change depending on where you live. States don’t vote, people do.

The “Founding Fathers” set the system up to accomodate slaves (as in, the rural states were also mostly slave states; slaves were considered in EC seat allocations but not allowed to vote, increasing the clout of these states).

Nearly five million California republicans had their votes thrown away because of the electoral college. Their votes should count too; eventually the GOP will move into the 20th century and nobody is well served by a single party state irregardless.

If the Republican 2020 Election team advertised Elizabeth Warren wanting to dump the Electoral College votes, wouldn’t it guarantee a Trump win for the flyover States?

Thanks Andy, I will be watching "Seattle is Dying " tonight. It used to be one of the cleanest cities in the US.

Andy Neimers many states would leave the union as that is why they joined in the first place then the shitholes can rule themselves.

Hey!… I like that!… So the states and their communities with the most turd and needles on their streets want to run the country! What could possibly go wrong??? Even Seattle has now recognized their descent into “San Francisco North” status, and KOMO News TV is tomorrow night repeating their hard-hitting expose of how the feckless Democrats have got it Wrong!, Wrong!, and Wrong!….

The Democrats also want to reduce the voting age to 16 and enlarge the Supreme Court and pack it with leftist judges . Basically they seek a one party country with no obstacles to their socialist movement.
They’ve destroyed California and New York . The very people, staunch Democrats, who voted for sanctuary cities and high taxes are all bailing out ,leaving others to clean up their mess.

There isn’t a hope in hell of abolishing the electoral college. No matter which route they go to propose and amendment to do so, it would still have to be ratified by three fourths of the state legislators, and that wouldn’t happen.
