Accusation against Steve Paikin “strains credulity”: Is blowback coming for #MeToo?

David MenziesMission Specialist

Former Toronto mayoralty candidate Sarah Thomson dropped a bombshell the other day when she accused TVO host Steve Paikin of inappropriately propositioning her.

Thomson alleges that Paikin offered her a spot on his TV show if she would sleep with him.

It should be noted that nothing has been proven in a court of law, and unless and until the real facts come out, we’re left trying to assess the likelihood of the allegations and the reliability of Paikin’s denial.

Regardless of where you sit on the political spectrum, anyone who has ever met Mr. Paikin would have an easier time believing that the world is flat than buying Thomson's allegations.

TV Ontario hasn’t thrown Paikin under the bus by removing him from the anchor’s chair based on an unsubstantiated allegation.

And for his part, Paikin is not going quietly into the night. Rather, he fired back at Thomson in a 600-word rebuttal.

Will Paikin get his "day in court", or will he be tried in the court of public opinion?

And will we finally witness some much-needed blowback against the witch-hunt element of the #MeToo movement?

I’m surprised that it wasn’t California Democratic Assemblywoman Cristina Garcia who accused Steve. She’s head of #metoo, and has herself been accused of groping a couple of professionals. You won’t see a peep about this on CNN, CBC or CTV, but reliable media like Breitbart & BBC both featured the story.

Less and less are some women, women. They are becoming archetypes of evil. Femme fatales. Unprincipled opportunists. Ambitious but no talent schmucks, with the reputation of having the ethics of an alley-cats.

Cookie-cutter copies of Kathy Griffin. Desperate and mentally unstable woman capable of any type of extremism and slander merely to keep their already thoroughly discredited names in print. Why?

The earth is flat but I believe he is innocent.!!
It’s just too easy for the left to weaponize an accusation without due process.. besides procreation would cease if men stopped coming on to women… rape on the other hand is a physical assault and an act of dominating another human being for another’s enjoyment but innuendo and propositions I think could be interpreted the wrong way but men and women should not be afraid or fear persecution for harmless flirting.

Are the days of Due Process over or are we going to let the ME TOO crap dictate how we handle accusations. This kinda thing has gotten way out of hand and it’s too easy (convenient) for a woman to ruin a man’s reputation.

Given all the false accusations flying around recently claiming sexual impropriety – all committed to bring down some man – in future when I hear any accusations my tendency will be to NOT believe them!
Cause and effect!
Way to go all you stupid cows, this is what happens when you cry wolf – everyone else has to suffer now!
As for that lying skank Thompson, is she(?) a wannabe singer, a wannabe black person or a wannabe human…because she’s(?) failed miserably at all of them…I hope Paikin sues her skinny ass off and puts her in street-bum povertyville…

Lawsuit, with apology

Eventually things will turn around and a lot of the Me Too beitches will find themselves in prison. MeToo is the most base, lowlife criminal organization I have seen in a long time. Good riddance.

Left wing men were neutered a while back so they are not to concerned.

These accusations will keep getting more weaponized.

Great report David Menzies. Completely convincing. It is masterful. Thank you.

A defamation suit is definitely called for. The truth must prevail.

What is wrong with the Guy, he just wants her to sleep with him. Must have a fall out problem. Lol.

I hope he sues and maybe as a result puts a damper on this #MeToo movement.

Ron thanks for the chuckle.

Her story does lack credibility, and, it is my hope Steve Paikin will sue her for defamation. His response to her claims was well said.

Liza said in part, “The one thing that she’s ‘gotta do ’ is get herself a good shampoo and see a psychiatrist.”

So true Liza!

First, people who can’t sing shouldn’t sing.

Her story lacks credibility. Men are generally pretty sensitive when it comes to being rejected and seldom if ever will ask a woman outright to sleep with them, especially when there is the chance of emasculating humiliation in front of another guy in a public place. If he were to have this intention, he would wait until one of the many times he would have to be totally alone with her.

Oh, well if she says she was just joking, and expects everyone to believe her, can’t Steve claim and expect the same? She’s to shallow to see her on contradiction.

I feel bad for Steve, but I’m glad this happened, as it puts the #MeToo movement in question. When you make it SO EASY to file a complaint, you invariably bring out the ambitious nut jobs acting for their own gain, or “the team”.

I truly suspect SHE offered to sleep with HIM to get on the show, since she desperately needed the coverage, and admits doing so with Black. One of the most common types of lies, is to simply switch up a single word, such as “you” for “me”.

Sarah Thomson sounds like a talentless tramp who desperately wants to be a star. Maybe she should try the CBC. The #MeToo movement was doomed to fail eventually because it open the door to shameless opportunists like her to exploit it.

If a smart Martian Lawyer came to a Toronto Court and found out that earthlings had no punishment for a woman that lied about a sexual attack which would completely ruin a man’s life and career, he would shake all 3 of his heads.
In Iran a woman found guilty of this is Hung right after her trial. That’s going too far, but 10 years should suffice. Muslims lying about attacks should be included.

…heck away from!

I love it when this stuff the left latches onto to virtue signal and make themselves feel important blows up in their faces. Sarah Thomson is another nutjob, jumping on the bandwagon. And as Jan mentions she has tried this before. She has no credibility.
The one thing that she’s ‘gotta do ’ is get herself a good shampoo and see a psychiatrist. She clearly has daddy issues to be accusing men of coming onto her when they didn’t and trying to gain traction from it. What kind of person would do that? One you want to stay the heck away with. She may as well of accused Mr. Dressup.

Good for TVO. Good for Steve for standing up for himself. He has to sue. Women like that are a danger to the public at large.

It seems like this is just one more in a long line of Sarah Thomson’s inappropriate behaviours. If it’s proven that this is the case, Thomson is not doing a favour to the #MeToo movement, or to anyone else either.

When she ran for Mayor, John Tory’s son was her campaign manager.
She was anti-Rob Ford.
She accused Rob Ford of groping her, inappropriately grabbing her, and propositioning her since ‘his wife was away’.
Go to ‘Between Elections’ on the attached story.
She lied then.
I guess ‘MeToo’ applies to all her lying.
