A 62-year-old Brazilian man accused of sexually assaulting a six-year-old girl was gunned down during the middle of the day after police declined to press charges.
The unnamed man was even caught on CCTV footage appearing to inappropriately touch a girl at a supermarket while her mother was distracted.
According to The Mirror, the man reportedly took the girl behind some boxes and sexually assaulted her. When the girl screamed for help, other shoppers and supermarket employees rushed in to help and grabbed him. Police were called and the man was arrested.
However, after being charged with sex abuse of a minor, days later prosecution said the evidence was not “clear enough” and dropped the charges.
Mere hours after being released, he was shot dead in Porto Alegre, Brazil.
The girl's mom says she is still traumatized by the event and is afraid to go out.
