Alberta NDP candidate for Calgary-Varsity Anne McGrath is a communist. Don’t let the NDP orange she is wearing for the campaign fool you. On the inside, she is as red as Vladimir Lenin.
McGrath has been featured in many glowing articles from the Media Party. The CBC once was so blatant (or obtuse) that they outlined each and every campaign she ever ran in, EXCEPT for the Communist Party campaign that McGrath ran in the 1980s, during the Cold War. Notley once told Postmedia that, “Anne understands my thinking on things and we’re very closely connected”. I wonder what the media outcry would be if Jason Kenney said something similar about a radical employee.
While President Ronald Reagan and then Canadian Prime Minister Brian Mulroney were busy arming the Canadian north in the 1980s, strategically protecting North America from a nuclear holocaust - Anne McGrath was fighting for the enemy team.
McGrath’s red record consists of fighting to nationalize the economy, and gleefully participating in “capitalist pig roasts”, where effigies of the Canadian bourgeois, or the “ruling class” as McGrath and her comrades put it were being burned on a spit, to protest the capitalist patriarchy.
It is my opinion that running for the Communist Party during the Cold War should be treated akin to supporting the Imperial Japanese or the Nazis in the 1940s. Radical, dictatorial ideologies have no place in Canada, and people supporting them should be crucified (figuratively) by the media.
Sadly, the mainstream media has willingly ignored the red record of Anne McGrath – I refuse to give her a pass, as should anyone who has had family succumb to McGrath’s deadly ideology.
In the video above, I approach McGrath while she door-knocks in a Calgary community. Not only does she comment on ongoing litigation between The Rebel and the Government of Alberta (of which she is a senior director), she actually called the police on a journalist – for asking her tough questions of all things!
It is clear McGrath is indeed close to Notley, in ideology and operation. Just like the Premiers’ Office called the Sheriffs on Sheila Gunn Reid for covering a story in the Legislature, this Calgarian Communist holds unregistered journalists in high contempt. Unfortunately for McGrath, and as you will see in the video, the Calgary Police Service are not the Stasi that she is used to.
