The RCMP have just taken action to enforce a court injunction in British Columbia. The police ended up arresting 14 people who were actively blockading TransCanada’s rightful access to land in order to build a $6.2 billion pipeline from Dawson's Creek to Kitimat.
The blockade was encouraged and supported by the hereditary chiefs of northern BC indigenous bands. The arrests have spurred anti-oil and gas protests across Canada.
I went to one of them yesterday, in Calgary, Alberta.
It was not lost on the pro-oil and gas demonstrators that left-wing organizations that foment protests and blockades like these are being funded by the Tides Foundation.
Unfortunately, since the First Nations Financial Transparency Act was kneecapped by the Trudeau government, there really is no way of telling where these groups are getting money.
