It was a sunny day out here in Okotoks, Alberta. At a local store, I asked regular moms and dads who were out doing their Christmas shopping whether or not they think Donald Trump would be treating Alberta's oil and gas sector better than Justin Trudeau.
I also ask them what an independent Alberta looks like to them.
I ask this question all the time at protests but that has a chance of biasing the results. Today, these were just every-day Albertans with no particular political inclination.
I'd wondered if the anger we've been seeing across Alberta was limited to the protesters; maybe just the protesters were angry. Well, as you can see in the video, that couldn’t be farther from the case.
I don’t think the question is so much an Alberta one anymore. It’s a question of whether or not Manitoba, Saskatchewan, or BC are as fed up as Alberta.
