Alberta Bill 6 regulations: Owning an alpaca more dangerous than working in a quarry

Sheila Gunn ReidRebel Host | The Gunn Show

Do you know what's more dangerous than standing on the side of a mountain incline with an industrial chainsaw in your hand, logging trees so that they don’t crush you? A llama.

Do you know what's more dangerous than using explosives to blast away the side of a mountain to excavate limestone? Milking a cow.

How do I know this? I've looked at the new WCB rates. There are new rates per industry, now that Bill 6 has passed and farms have to be compliant with WCB and OHS regulations.

Now owning an Alpaca is legally determined to be more dangerous than working in a quarry, logging, and working in upstream oil and gas.

This is exactly why farmers were resistant to Bill 6. Actually there are many reasons to be opposed to Bill6 but this is a big one. It’s a cash grab. How can some pencil pusher in an office somewhere even begin to calculate the risk of being hurt on a farm by an Alpaca?

Most farmers already have better and more comprehensive insurance for themselves and their workers. How does taking that same money and sending it to WCB every month instead keep anyone safer? This is like voodoo: "Send us an offering. We will cast a spell to chase the injury gremlins off the farm."

The oil and gas sector has cheap WCB rates. But they have so many safety training courses, safety officers, safety meetings and on-site medics. Big oil companies can afford to do all that to keep their WCB rate cheap. How on earth can mom and pop farms carry this burden?

They can't afford to have an on-site medic, or a safety officer so that they can have cheaper WCB premiums.

Small farms now are damned if they do and damned if they don’t.

Just before I left Ontario I went to a gun range and I took a back road. What I saw amazed me. There was a small farm with a big fence around it, even the driveway had a big gate. I was wondering what kind of livestock would they have to need such a big fence. Then I found out why the fence, there was a big sign on the gate with big letters on it. - GOVERNMENT BACK OFF, THIS IS OUR LAND - . The destruction of property rights and land ownership is bigger than bill C6 in Alberta. I think Wayne Beaton comment comes close to the issue behind it all. There is an International Agenda and it is Communist/Fascist based and is being enacted through the U.N. by so called Socialist governments. You are right Albertans’ you have to stand up to this incursion because it is just the beginning. BTW the Socialist government of Ontario just recently sold Hydro One, guess who bought the majority of it? Foreign Governments – China, and Saudi’s -. And they are also shutting down the coal fired Generating stations. Sound familiar to anyone.

All prohibitions only work if most of the targeted people obey them. Some decades ago California implemented gun registration laws, expecting 3 million owners to register their firearms. Well the deadline came and went with only 50,000 registered. So faced with arresting 10% of the population, they were forced to abolish the law instead. So perhaps Farmers can simply fail to comply in unison.

The answer is simple really. Look at the bigger picture. AGENDA 21. Force small farmers, ranchers and rural dwellers into the larger cities (have to seen the apartment buildings being built in Edmonton!!), the government will have better control over you and your life. Less infrastructure required outside cities. We live under a microscope, we are controlled. They start with the farmers. Small family farmers cannot possible sustain now, wait till they are taxed to death, smothered with regulations, they will gladly leave. NOTLEY is a fascist sellout. Take the red pill!!

Paul Joseph Watson is on INFOWARS all the time. He is a very good journalist. REBEL is truly ALTERNATIVE…..Keep it up.

This is exactly what the NDP is all about. They have a destructive agenda, they knew they would have only one shot at it and are trying to do as much damage as possible in the time they have. Buy the unions, bloat the government, keep all the civil servants happy while screwing over the lowly sucker taxpayers.

The NDP have never been for the family or worker. Their true concern is where the next pile of money comes from and how fast they can spend it on sponsoring unions to do their bidding. It’s all about spending other peoples money. In Manitoba we have the worst education, worst health care and the highest taxes. Our government spends it faster than they can draft the next tax grab. Selinger is a liar and a cheat and I look forward to April 19/16 the end of an incompetent government morally and financially broke. These clowns have spent enough of our tax dollars with no result. Alberta has a long road ahead as their NDP will work to buy the vote of every union member in the province for their survival.

The fact an elected government passed a bill when the affected citizenry are in clear, intense, and direct opposition is clearly a tyrannical act. It is not overdoing it to say that. The are there to serve us, not the other way around. They do what we want, not what they want. There is nothing democratic about a party that so arrogantly and blatantly passes oppressive legislation when the people targeted by the bill did not ask for and do not want it. Although tyrannical, we still live with a government that allows us to peacefully revolt, because if we do not like them we can vote them out. I am not a farmer, but the fact the NDP did this in the manner they did is terrifying. What else will they do and legislation will they pass despite mass opposition from the populace? We cannot remain asleep and pretend this is a minor thing. If we do not stand up to this, this will literally repeat itself in other forms of legislation that take away more and more freedom. This is for real.

What the NDP is doing in Alberta is the most disgusting and horrific treatment of Canadian citizens ever.
The whole thing has an echo of a police state take over of the homes and land of tax paying citizens. Now they are intruding into the hearthstone, the heart of the family.
A slow simmering anger is at the root of any agrarian uprising. We are peaceful and hard working, but abusive government policies can not be tolerated by fair and just people.
This is where we must draw a line and not give way.
All Canadians should be deeply concerned with what Notely is doing.

All farmers should just collectively refuse to participate.what are they gonna do? Shut down every farm in Alberta?how many would that be, 50000? More? Good luck with hall meetings mean nothing.all out revolt can’t be ignored.

Just a ball of Red tape to make things difficult and hard and hit the Ranchers’ and farmers’ pocket book in order for this Socialist Government to control them and prevent them from building a quality life as much as this Collective Commie style government can!

Yes some serious damage can happen if the alpaca spit on you.

You missed the part about controlling the minds of the Children—-starting in Kindergarten and proceeding all through University. It is really scary.

Marxism is all about control. Control their minds, Control their way of life, Control what the see on TV, Control Control Control.
One bright thought, this is probably the last time, ever, that the NDP slime, will be elected in Alberta. Let us hope that other Provinces take note.

I wonder when the cbc and ctv will – if ever – report this on national news?

Think that pompous peter would lower himself to announce this after sucking the gay boy pm’s dick?

Absolutely correct Van…this has nothing at all to do with safety…it’s simply about unionization and control of all industries in the province…that’s the dipper way…poor Alberta.

It appears more and more that htis whole bill 6 has less to do with farm safety and more to do with with affecting change. Maybe it is the way to destroy family farms which are more independent self reliant people and raising same and thus less dependent on govs. One think is for sure, nothing is this bill will change the risks family farmers have to deal with each day and is only another regulation tax levied on a group who in most cases can least afford it.
