Alberta election: PCs attack "irresponsible" Wildrose fiscal plan

Marc PatroneRebel Commentator

Alberta PCs rolled out their big guns to try and blow a hole in the Wildrose plan to balance the books without raising taxes.

Six cabinet ministers including Finance minister Robin Campbell used a power point presentation to blast what they say, is a Wildrose plan with no details.

Campbell says the fiscal state of the province is too important for Albertans not to have a clear idea of exactly what the Wildrose is planning.

"I just think it's irresponsible for the Wildrose Party to come up with numbers that just don't add up. We have put a budget forward the numbers are there. It's transparent. It's clear for every Albertan to look at our plan.

"The Wildrose has not done that," says Campbell.

Wildrose leader Brian Jean says the PC plan hammers the middle class with dozens of new taxes but is being rejected by Albertans during this election campaign.

Alberta conservatives, don’t be fooled by Jim Prentice’s PC Party, which under him is really a liberal party, just as it was under Alison Redford. If you want a conservative government that won’t bankrupt Alberta, vote Wild Rose. This party exists today because the Alberta PC’s have drifted from being a conservative party to being liberals in conservative clothing. Don’t be fooled again. Wild Rose is the real conservative party in Alberta.

It’s well past time for a change in Alberta. Wildrose can’t do any worse than the PCs. Wildrose’s Leader, Brian Jean, is a conservative and a business man who understands economics and finance and has worked in federal politics. Prentice is a lawyer and a liberal. Liberals destroy everything they touch. The correct choice is obvious.

No, Robin Campbell, what is irresponsible is what you and your government has done to finances that were in good shape after Ralph Klein, whom your party so rudely pushed out after having done what you creeps could not do and still cannot do, that being getting Alberta’s books back in order.

Robin Campbell, start looking for a new job, someone mature is taking your place, the Wildrose.

When I see an ex mayor who gave a billionaire hundreds of millions of dollars from the taxpayer telling me someone else can’t budget…makes me angry to be lied to by these PC fraud artists. Wildrose will form government and these incredibly corrupt people should be investigated, charged, and incarcerated. Make it a campaign promise Wildrose…

""I just think it’s irresponsible for the Wildrose Party to come up with numbers that just don’t add up. We have put a budget forward the numbers are there. It’s transparent. It’s clear for every Albertan to look at our plan.
“The Wildrose has not done that,” says Campbell."

Wynne said the same thing to and about Hudak (Conservatives) in Ontario… and guess what? Ontario is finding out that Hudak was right!

Misters Ministers, the policy you call irresponsible is nicknamed “hack and slash”. It’s called “cutting out the duplication and upper-middle management.” It’s called “getting rid of the feed trough.” None of which you Tories did, and now we’re in a fiscal mess because of it. Oil prices cycle, just like all things. Booms and busts happen. Business knows this — we call it “feast and famine.” When we have REALLY good times, we sock money away, because we know really BAD times will come… and we’d better have a buffer to get through the bad times.

Bad times are here, but you guys never planned ahead, even when years ago some overly-cautious people told you to quit increasing the budget. So, like a business that can’t pay all its bills, it has to cut expenses. THAT is what you’re calling irresponsible? Cutting expenses? May you never be in business — you’d lose it all.

They look like a bunch of old men that should have retired or stayed retired (Mandel). Yesterday’s news…it’s long past time for new government. The PCs should have been turfed in 2012 but their lying scaremongering turned things around at the last minute and they’re up to the same old tricks in 2015. We won’t be fooled again. It’s time to retire the old crony PC party.

It takes 6 of them to try to convince Albertans the WR plan doesn’t make sense – guess that is why the government has to spend so much when it takes 6 people to do what one person should be able to do. We all know the PC’s don’t know how to do math, so they are the wrong people to be criticizing anyone.

Ads in the paper after May 5th:

Work wanted: Progressive Conservative cabinet members looking for work. Will take anything. Need some dirty work done? No problem, we are not hindered by morals. Will work cheap.

A 44 year regime is about to collapse on May 5th.

Not every Albertan lives in Calgary, most Albertans are ticked off with the lot of you. You are not loved.

If the PCs want to throw the “irresponsible” card about, I can show them their financial history over the last 15 years… (I did, in another post…)
