The NDP are making further changes to Alberta’s education curriculum. In addition to issuing Guidelines for Best Practices to create safe learning spaces for LGBTQ kids, they’ve now drafted changes for social studies and they’re quite revealing.
In a modern day version of book burning, the Alberta government are essentially wiping away history, except in the case of First Nations, Metis, Inuit and Francophone history of course.
Instead of teaching social studies, they’re turning the curriculum into more of a training course for social justice warriors aimed at kids from kindergarten all the way to the twelfth grade.
In studying the draft documents, the mandate appears to be to produce activists. They issue directives for taking action to effect change and also ask kids questions like, “How and why should individuals and groups advocate for their rights and the rights of others”?
Another unsurprising omission from the social studies curriculum is the millions of lives lost due to communism.
Notley does love her Che Guevara watch and NDP MLA Rod Loyola is Hugo Chavez’s biggest fan. It doesn’t seem to matter that the Marxist ideology espoused by both these men is responsible for hundreds of millions of deaths.
But the left don’t like to talk about that. As far as they’re concerned, these men are revolutionary heroes.
The Alberta NDP are doing their part to hide the dangers of this toxic ideology by teaching it to kids in a way that re-words the ideals, and now they're perpetuating that view in the social studies curriculum.
In Canada, it’s taxpayers that foot the bill to churn out little Marxists.
The NDP claim to fight for equality, but their communist heroes did anything but that and weren't really fans of diversity so they'll just erase that part of communism's history.
If diversity is our strength though, as they like to say, shouldn’t that also apply to a diverse education? I guess that’s different.
