Alberta NDP’s social justice focused curriculum sets kids up for failure

Holly NicholasRebel Commentator

The NDP have been mucking up the Alberta education system. While the changes presented in a feel-good social media campaign might seem amazing, a closer look shows the government treating the public education system as a factory to turn out social justice warriors.

Watch as I give an example of how these actions will affect the future of our children as the NDP take them down what seems to be a very dangerous slippery slope.

The way things are going, kids aren’t going to be prepared for a future that involves jobs in science and tech.

The NDP are putting more focus on activism than they are on important subjects like computer science and math in what are called the STEM topics.

Math scores in the province have shown a downward trend. Even more telling is that the first discovery math program was instituted in Canada in 1995, and ever since then, the percentage of top math students in grade 4 has gone from 9 to 2.4% according to Trends in International Mathematics and Science Study stats.

Technology makes the world go round today, so consider these stats from the Information and Communications Technology Council’s Labour Market Outlook that projects that 182K jobs in information and communication tech will go unfilled at a time when Canadian youth face unemployment rates of around 13%.

That’s because the number of students graduating with math and science oriented degrees is low, and when kids aren’t exposed to STEM subjects early, there’s less interest as they grow older.

For his part, Minister David Eggen has stated that he realizes the math curriculum needs to be revamped, but at the same time he says he thinks that it’s a good idea for teachers to have flexibility in teaching methods.

Considering his secret curriculum team, can we really trust the NDP to make the changes needed for our kids to succeed?

Instead of setting kids up for success, the government is setting them up for failure because they stand to gain from it.

The Marxist educational system will be starting up in Sept. time for all the left wing union goon teachers to start the indoctrination.

Educators (I use the term loosely), are abusing their positions. It’s a Breach of Trust. Time for some legal action.

At the end of the day, everyone is exhausted – no time for the magnitude of deprogramming/daily reflection required. Get your kids out of the public system: find a way to afford private school…. or homeschool. It may require a lifestyle change. You will be surprised how much your child can get done academically when the propaganda is removed.

Hitler would be proud of the NDP & liberals for indoctrinating the future generations. It’s up the parents and families to deprogram the children on a daily basis, or better yet, don’t send them at all.

Holly, good work as usual.

JAMES SCOTT’S simple one liner speaks volumes and is about all one needs to know.

Eggen and his ilk are literally sick and morally repulsive. They want to churn out nothing more than a multi gendered homogeneous soup of sjw fear mongering climate zealots draped in “green” ideology, sexual dysphoria, and a socio-communistic group think band of compliant social soldiers knowing only and depending on state control. And none of them will know or understand mathematics, democracy or ISLAM.

The higher education sector has been cranking out sjw’s for years now. The job market is flooded with unemployable people who have no marketable skills, can’t read or write and have a hard time working with others. Starting them off younger will ensure that within about 20 years the pool of unemployables will be more like an ocean.

A few years back, I used to work as a cashier. No cash register, just a cash tray. I was so afraid that I would botch up the math, that I would end up counting the numbers out loud so that the customer could hear me do it. I sure felt stupid doing it too. And then I found out that all my younger co workers used a calculator.

One thing is for certain you don’t want a socialist/marxist tinkering with the curriculum.

Arlene May that is exactly right , they want Serf’s who cannot read or do math.

Space Moose yep pretty much. Although this started a while back, try giving a young person at a cashier position an easy calculation and they cannot do it, like if your total is 16.50 and you give them 21.50 to make it simpler and get a 5.00 back, they will stare at what you gave them without a friggin clue as to why.

Many years ago I was looking into homeschooling our children and ultimately made the decision that it was a fit for our family. Part of what convinced me of the wisdom for making this choice was reading some of what was written by people described as being the originators of modern education….I suppose post modern by now. It would be well worth while for those interested or concerned to read what these guys had to say. They described a society where there would be an elite, well educated class and another class of schlubs who were educated to work without asking questions or causing a stir. It was interesting reading.

Agents for change – very telling
I hope this can be undone , and if so, I hope we can fix the agents of change

HOLLY , what MOOSE said — weekend videos , thanks !!!!

Hi Holly, great work as always. You seem to know so much about just about every important topic.

I think I have figured out the NDP game plan. They are trying to dumb the kids down in mathematics. This way, the future of Alberta does not have the ability to number crunch the harm that is done by things like the beer tax, bill six, the royalty review, $15 min wage, etc. Or am I just a bit too cynical?

PS: Holly, I love how you put videos up on the weekend. Thanks.

Thanks Holly, great commentary.
Churning out agents for change….not educating students; rather indoctrinating them to look to the state to take care of all their needs/wants. The education system in so many ways has created malleable minds instead of critical thinkers, the failing Math instruction was identified some time ago, and, yet, nothing has changed. It’s a very sad state of affairs, with incalculable repercussions.
