Alberta oil tycoon who backed NDP carbon tax is moving to England -- “for tax reasons”

Ezra LevantRebel Commander

Murray Edwards, the Calgary oilsands tycoon, is reportedly moving to London, England, for tax reasons. Remember when he shocked the province by endorsing Notley’s carbon tax. That’s like a chicken endorsing Colonel Sanders!

We soon found out that Edwards company, CNRL, had negotiated huge subsidies in Notley's carbon tax scheme — his company won’t be out a dime. They might even make money off of it. That’s how Notley got Edwards on board. The carbon tax will just be for the little people.

And as for the hike in personal tax rates that Notley’s bringing in? Well, you can’t tax it, if it’s in London.

I don’t blame Murray Edwards for saving himself millions of dollars a year. But I do blame him for selling the rest of us out.

To move to England from Alberta to save on taxes should tell us about all we need to know about where Notley has this province headed.

God’s plan trumps the UN Agenda 21 Plan, and any other plan that human beings devised!

They ALL signed on Agenda21! Another serfdom king.

Do you live in Alberta and want to separate from Trudi, Wynnie, Coderre?

Alberta Independence Party needs to get registered and start fighting back against the madness.

We need signatures!

Jamie MacMaster, of course the primary goal of any company, large big bad oil companies or not, is always profit.

The statement you used reeks of “capitalism is bad, profits are bad.” That is socialist stupidity.

Do you truly think that the government (the entity that the socialists worship) is not full of greedy people high up in power just wanting to take you money and line their pockets? If you do, then you are a fool.

Greed is systemic to the human race, socialist and capitalist.

The difference is that in a capitalist system, you willingly part with your money to buy the product offered by those greedy evil corporations and often have a choice to buy it from elsewhere.

However, in a socialists system where the government is worshiped by the socialist masses, the money is forcibly taken from the people and used as those greedy socialist elites in the government choose to spend it.

Which one you prefer is obvious. I prefer the big bad evil capitalist system because at least I have a choice.

If he had left without making his own side deal, that would be different. But he decided that he should be included in the plans of destruction for Alberta, and went along with a destructive government, who will bleed the people dry with more foolish taxes, to line their own pockets with. That doesn’t sound very honourable to me at all.

Look folks, here’s a hard truth for all of you: The major oil companies simply don’t give a shit about you or their workers. Period. Only profits matter. Want some proof? Go to the Canadian Association of Petroleum Producers website, look up its press releases, and let me know if you find one little smidgen of concern about carbon taxes. Zero, SFA, de rien.

Instead, there are all sorts of suck-up messages about “working together” with governments, “moving forward” on environmental initiatives, etc., etc. It’s enough to gag a maggot.

Mr. Edwards is the rule, not the exception.

I hear nothing but bad stories form others who have worked for CNRL , they are piss poorly run.

Between Ms. Notley and Ms. Trudeau we will all be forced to thy kingdom come.

Mr. Edwards could be in for a big shock. He cannot be aware of the Tax Rates in the UK. Even if his money is stashed off shore. The Tax Man will politely ask him how much he is worth
and if he is shy about telling them, they do not mind, they just make a very extravagant guess. This move is going to cost him mega bucks.

The UK Minister of Health, just recently, came out with a big tirade about how the British Public were becoming Obese. A month later the Government came out with an extra tax on Sugar and Canned Soft Drinks.

I worked for PennWest and Canadian Natural Resources, I had a lot of respect for Murray Edwards we even met once. Well all that respect is gone. He has just showed me that he is just another political P.O.S…. Have fun in England, I lived there for a few years in my life, and it was way better then. Than it is now.

Non-Democratic Party members. Demand that Murray Edwards wealth be confiscated and then redistributed to A.U.P.E. Do it now! People of The National Socialist Province of Alberta do the same.

CEO and the companies they run will do what they need to in order to make a profit. Not Pretty, but it is a fact of life. However, the ones I blame are the idealistic nitwits, the NDP, who created the environment by taxing in every way possible.

The NDP have to go.

He knew it was a bad deal, but then he cuts a deal for his own company, and then cuts and runs to save his own assets. He just lost the respect that I had for him!

Good thing he’s a billionaire, he can run away from all his bad decisions. Sorry for all those people who don’t have billions of dollars to their name, you have to live with this sorry excuse for a provincial government.
