The Progressive Conservative establishment in Alberta is working hard to block the pro-unity leadership candidacy of Jason Kenney, levying a $5,000 fine and stripping him of 15 delegates after finding Kenny guilty of breaching the party’s fuzzy leadership campaign rules.
The PCAA party says that Kenney is guilty of campaigning “in or near” a delegate selection meeting held at a South Edmonton golf course because he hosted a hospitality suite at the same business on the same night as the meeting.
Kenny wasn't in the delegate selection meeting room, nor was there an accusation that he was. The problem is with the word “near” and how it is measured.
The Kenny campaign says it reached out on two separate occasions for clarity with regard to what “near” means and they received no answer.
Watch to see why I think the PCs and their fake investigation into the misdeeds of Jason Kenney was all just a theatrical exercise to seem fair — while being anything but.
The PC establishment is doing everything they can to remind us they are the same old party people were so desperate to get rid of.
