Alberta’s socialist government fumbles $5M+ “handout” to solar panel companies

Sheila Gunn ReidRebel Host | The Gunn Show

Imagine a socialist government that can’t even please the people they are throwing money at. You’ve just imagined Rachel Notley’s NDP.

The Alberta government recently announced they are handing out $5M dollars to municipal governments to install solar panels and they are offering another $500,000 dollars for farmers to do the same.

But like so much the NDP does, they couldn’t do this right, either.

The solar panel companies are complaining about the roll out of the program, saying that since the solar rebates for municipalities don't kick in until March, whatever business these companies were going to do between now and then is being delayed until the rebates come into effect.

The solar companies aren’t getting their indirect corporate welfare quickly enough.

These handouts and incentives are all taken out of the pocket of your family - every last one of them.

When you’re shuffling around in a sweater because you’re paying 30% more for natural gas as temperatures plummet, someone is getting that money to put a solar panel on their barn.

Doesn’t that warm your heart?

Throwing money at solar will not make it work. Any time a government gets involved with business transactions, it will always go wrong. Solar needs to make it on its own. The U.S. has invested in a few solar companies and they are now bankrupted.
Google is a great example for solar and wind in all their facilities in 2017 https://www.boldsolarsolutions.com/google-powered-by-renewable-energy-in-2017

I have a ranch in alberta and will not fall for this NDP scam. No matter what they promise they will not be here in two years so any GREAT DEAL THEY PROMISE WILL BE VOID IN TWO YEARS TIME. Huge risk with no payout. Anything of any size would cost close to 50,000 dollars and have a 50 to 60 year payout or more. That is a terrible investment. Be very wary of ANY NDP DEALS

The NDP throwing our money down a “Solyndra” Solar Sink-Hole. We all know how this latest Commie dream is going to end.

How much energy do you get from solar panels covered in Snow?
How much energy do you get in an Alberta winter with few hours of sunlight?
Another Socialist Scam with ZERO payback.
AGW is NOT Science, it is an Unproven Hypothesis . . .
NOAA caught again fudging data to fool the fools . . .

Solar power is not that green.
The carbon foot print to make the batteries that only last 5-7 years.
the carbon foot print to male the panels.
- DC to AC inverter.
Batteries dont do so well in cold northern climates. I guess if this government drives up the cost of energy enough the solar panels will pay for themselves in 80 years instead of 100.

I think that there is some union goon or some green school teachers that love it.

Oh God!… Do we really have to got through this again??… Until current solar cell technology has a break through, and cells can get above the current 15/16 per cent even “laboratory condition” efficiency, the whole damn thing is a subsidized chimera… If you personally have the money to plunk solar cells on your roof to play “Green” or want to “live off the grid in some measure”, and are willing to back them up with expensive deep-cycle batteries for emergency power, go ahead… But don’t try to pretend that a whole modern society can be reliably maintained on them without tax subsidies!… The Germans, after wasting billions, have come to the same conclusion, Duh!… And in parts of North America, where the rain or snow falls for days at a time – Hello Vancouver! Hello Seattle! – the proof is there for all to see except the most idiotic ostriches…

Yes it does! Warms it to the point of absolute & decisive contempt for R. Nutley and her FRAUD being done to uninformed Albertens – this climate change bullshit is the biggest fraud being pulled on braindead peoples!!

Sadly the $5M “handout” probably started as over $10M in taxpayer revenue. Pennies on the $. Sounds like a Ponzi scheme but that’s standard government practice in Canada today. NOT AN INVESTMENT.

Climate change again, I am sick to my stomach hearing about it. The NDP is so quick to get on the bandwagon about climate change & believe the garbage that Suzuki or Al Gore & their ilk throw out there, but are tone deaf & blind when the truth is reported. What? Does Notley not know how to read, I guess not because she continues with her green policies despite the report put out by the UK last week featuring Obama’s top climate now retired scientist who has put a big X on their big scam. If you want to succeed in business in Ab for at least the next 3 yrs, get into the greenie stuff, can’t go wrong with Notley handing out all that carbon tax money so her greenie world can survive. How much longer can this go on??

Obviously, I have to go to my favourite hobby horse.

Solar energy is…energy! Energy is the responsibility of, wait for it…an energy minister.

However, the energy minister needs to be visible to direct an energy program.

But as I noted once before, it was sunny in our neck of the woods on Feb 2, .so the invisible energy minister is back hidIng under her desk. Hence another bungled file from the energy ministry.

Psychodrama sucide cannibals on Marxist L S D
Too funny , the solar mill companies are complaining about not getting the money fast enough for something that’s not really going to work anyway

This is going to be entertaining disaster

Notley is mimicking the old Sask NDP policies to the letter – with the same results.
