Amanda Head: “Every conservative should go to CPAC at least once”

Amanda HeadRebel Contributor

I’m here in Maryland for the annual Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC), the biggest gathering of conservatives in the U.S.

CPAC is a place where Republicans have announced their run for the presidency, and where speeches by major figures like Rush Limbaugh, Ann Coulter and Andrew Breitbart have gone down in (conservative) history.

This year, the lineup of speakers is as impressive as ever. Today I’ll be there when Vice President Pence addresses the gathering, and on Saturday, President Trump himself will be here.

Some people call CPAC the “conservative Woodstock”: Coming here at least once in your life is a must, especially for young people. You get inspired and ready to go out and take on the progressive world.

Keith, that would make the MSM’s heads explode. Ezra would be all the news all the time. It would be full of transparent lies so it would really be fun. Here’s to hoping.

90 days and no sign of a hammer falling.

It would be interesting to see a comparable event on this side of the border. The only thing that even vaguely resembles CPAC in this country is when the Conservatives have a leadership convention. But those are about choosing the next leader of the Conservative Party. They are NOT a gathering of all the different small ‘c’ conservatives and they don’t normally have conservative media people there (except to report), not
that there are many conservatives in our media outside of The Rebel and a few bloggers.

I think it would really help conservatives here if we could actually talk to each other sometimes. Not just a couple of sentences or paragraphs in a comment section but genuine, substantive conversations! And hearing from genuine conservatives about the latest issues and ideas would be interesting and likely invigorating. Speaking of invigorating, it would certainly lift my political spirits to find myself in a large group of like-minded people, not just sitting in my favourite chair wondering if I’m one of only a sparse handful of people who don’t like the way this country is going.

Amanda, if you could get Trump to say a few words to the Rebel, it would be your Crowning Glory and everybody would be proud of your achievement.
