Amazing video of Israel standing still to commemorate the Holocaust

Brian LilleyArchive

Marking a solemn occasion with a moment of silence is standard practice in many parts of the world but what happened in Israel on Wednesday morning is truly remarkable.

As the country was marking Holocaust Remembrance Day sirens rang out across the country at 10am local time. In this amazing video, shot from the 24th floor of the Azrieli Towers in Tel Aviv, you can see traffic come to a stop, no one is moving at one of the busiest intersections in the city.

I see it as a sign of Israel’s resolve and unwavering faith in God’s victory.

Just reading Isaac’s Army by Matthew Brzezinski and seeing this short video has me weeping again, partly for all the victims and partly in despair.

I’ve been there for one of these remembrances. Very chilling.
