Brian Lilley reports: On refugee questions, Liberals STILL stonewalling The Rebel

Brian LilleyArchive

I'm sitting in for Ezra as he goes on assignment in Europe. Tonight, we look at Liberal lies.

I don't mean I'll just catalog the lies the Liberals have told us since they've taken power.

No, I'll compare and contrast their campaign promises about "transparency" and "trust" with their action in government.

PLUS I'll show you how, time and again, the Trudeau government has stonewalled The Rebel's Access to Information requests.

Wait until you see one of the emails I received from a government official!

I talk to veteran Liberal Party insider and journalist Ray Heard about what's really going on with both the refugee files and the Liberal government.

ALSO: How much power should government have to regulate the media?

Maybe the form just wasn’t in their database yet.

The Liberals are a bunch of hypocrites. Complaining that the Conservatives weren’t transparent enough and then within 100 days in government and they won’t answer any access to information requests. Where are the opposition Conservatives on this. I’ve said this before but it should be up to the opposition party to force the msm to report on this hypocricy and demand that the government comply to access to information requests in a timely manner.

I thought everyone knew about the iron triangle. Fast, cheap, or good. You can only gave two. Somehow the government got screwed and managed to pick only one

If this bunch of old farts think they can regulate what Canadians watch, they are more senile than they appear. Young people today don’t watch broadcast TV, read print newspapers, or even listen to radio. If Hedy Fry thinks she can wave her “magic cane” and put the genie back in the bottle, she is sorely mistaken.Just try to regulate the industry more than it already is and it will just die that much faster. Even a middle aged person like myself can find a workaround to get Netflix in the US or Australia. My kids can listen to free music and read free books in their sleep. If the media wants to be relevant it must adapt to some new realities, and no amount of government intervention will make that happen.

Sean Pension: You’re always good for a laugh. Canada is a sovereign country who takes it orders from no one especially the United nations who are not requiring other Muslim countries take in refugees. You are living in the fantasy realm.

ray says mccallum has been’ fairly transparent’.
time to put ray out to pasture.

OMG! I spelt two words wrong! I better go back to school for remedial spelling!

Craig, where are you? In his deranged election night anti-Harper rant, CTV’s Craig Oliver wondered if truthfulness and honestly is possible in modern politics.
He held up Justin Trudeau as a paradigm of “integrity, trust, openness, tolerance, truthfulness”, while accusing Stephen Harper as living up to none of those words, calling him a liar and a cheater. Oliver concluded his rant, “Now our job will be, my colleagues (that is, comrades) and I, to hold Mr. Trudeau to scrutiny”. Craig, time for you and your colleagues to get to work; you’re missing in action!

Sean Penson, Son your lack of knowledge about the UN is not worth commenting on. As Mary Auld stated Canada is under no obligation to take in refugees. Economic opportunists is dead on. The UN is mostly made of dictatorships. Then there are the Islamic dictatorships. And lets not forget the members of the UN “Human Rights” Council. Freedom loving countries like oh for example ,Saudi Arabia, Cuba China, United Arab Emirates. Two words can explain the United Nations for you Sean, corruption anb bribeary.

Sean….the UN DO NOT get to tell us who comes into our country. We do not have an ‘obligation’ to anyone but Canadians and if we choose to help ‘refugees’, good for us. The people we are getting here are NOT refugees, they are economic ‘opportunists’. They are pushing themselves to the front of the line and hapless libs, always willing to ‘look good’ at all costs, are allowing it to happen. The liberals have a strong sense of superiority, they truly believe they re better than everyone else and love to play ‘good guy’, makes them feel good all over. They don’t give a rat’s ass about Canadians because WE know what they are!!

TruDOPE is showing himself to be the mental midget we all knew he was before the election….shows it every time he opens his mouth. WHY is his government allowed to stonewall media outlets? He, just like Wynne, is given a free ride by most of the media in this country. Hope the Rebel will stay right on him and Wynne too and expose them both for what they are…..LIARS….CORRUPT…..IDIOTS!!

The default position among Westerners is to lump Assad in with the rebel groups and ISIS targeting Christians. Assad spent Christmas with Christian groups. Syria previous to the war was one of very few places in the Islamic countries of the region in which Christians and other minorities were NOT persecuted. The gulf in understanding by the West regarding the dynamics of the region is still very wide.

The claim from the Liebranos about transparency and data belonging to “Canadians” has a huge caveat. Liebranos consider only themselves to be “true Canadians”! The rest of us are simply the peasants paying the bills! This was oft the position of previous Lieberal governments and clearly has not changed! Marc Lalonde, a finance minister in the Trudeau Senior lieberal Gov’t actually got up in the HOC one day and stated that monies earned by taxpayers belongs not to the taxpayers, but to the lieberals! CPAC has the video in their archives if it has not yet been purged!
commented 2016-02-23 08:27:46 -0500
he(trudy) did tell us that he admired China…look at how transparent they are.

LMFAO!!! Regulating content in Canada.

Yes, but if you cut off your cable TV/Satellite TV, the libranos CANNOT force feed lousy government appointed entertainers into our homes.

What I sense is a “new tax” coming to support media garbage no one wants and no one reads.

If the libranos want new revenues, they should market the CBC archives to everyone on a subscription basis and see what happens.

Perhaps another strategy to the 300 day delay is they are hoping the Rebel may go under in that time. Leaving no one with the brass to challenge progressive non sense.

Sean Penson, ‘non man’. I wanted to ask you Sean, did you come up with that all by yourself.
Same question of your comment below.

The show should be renamed The Brian Lilley show for the week.

Anybody besides me was looking forward to Brian replying to hate mail?

We have an obligation, to the United Nations, to take as many refugees as possible. The United Nations General Assembly & Security Council is a senior level of government. End of the discussion!

Of course, only fools believed in Trudeau’s lies about transparent government under him. The ones who voted Liberal, that is, as opposed to the ones who voted NDP. Now the Liberals are treating Canadians like mushrooms, keeping us in the dark while they dump manure on us. Deception and concealment is the name of the game once they are in power. Always has been that way, always will be that way. Wake up, Canadians, and demand transparency from this government, or they will keep screwing us. Oh, what they hell, it’s too late…

Great reporting Brian!!
Edward Jobin commented 45 mins ago – Ed nothing is being done because we have a “lawless” goveberment controlling everything!! Why hasn’t there been any real response to the High River gun grab by RCMP THUGS who believe they are above us all – to the point that TruDope has given them the power to determine which kind of guns we are allowed to own?? FYI – their vest are not rifle bullet proof – but then again how many people would challenge their scourge with a hand gun? That’s how smart these people are.

Bombardier has formidable competition for regional jet sales on the horizon coming from Russia (Sukhoi 100 affiliated with Boeing), Airbus, China, Japan, Brazil, maybe more. If there are no solid orders from Canadian domestic carriers and nobody has the aircraft in service complete with a glowing performance profile, sales will be very tough.

Great show Brian, good to hear Ray rant again. Stay on top of this Refugee farce/scandal. Canadians need someone in their corner now the MSM have sold their souls to be part of the political power structure.

Someone help me out with this. If the government is breaking laws by not complying with access to information timetables why is nothing being done about it? Who is responsible for making them comply and what kind of punishments can they face?
commented 2016-02-22 23:07:14 -0500
Great job Brian! When are you going to have your own daily program on The Rebel?
