Andrew Klavan: Box Office Success of "American Sniper" Baffles Liberal Hollywood

Ezra LevantRebel Commander

On Tuesday's show, "Hollywood guy" Andrew Klavan joined me to discuss how the success of Clint Eastwood's film "American Sniper" is proof that the public is sick of the anti-American movies churned out by left-wing Hollywood elites.

"American Sniper" doesn't glorify warfare and doesn't push an anti-American narrative, it tells a true story about the experience of a soldier in the Iraq war. The film's success at the box office is confounding liberals in Hollywood who've released dozens of anti-American movies that flopped.

Andrew explains that what Americans want to see is a movie that doesn't attack their country and accurately depicts the experience of their veterans.

This has been going on for decades. All in the Family was supposed to lampoon Conservative Values. It ended up doing the opposite. And remember Happy Days? “Basically the show was filtering the 50’s through the prism of the 70’s and the Vietnam War.” Trying to instill a sense of the creeping impending doom of the War approaching the young people in the show. No one but libtarded executives saw them this way. They did not understand why the public never saw it their way.

Every time the last scene begins where the funeral procession is, I need to take a deep breath to keep myself from crying. But it doesn’t work. I’m always overwhelmed

Wayne Merk===Russia goes to the ME anytime they want, they have bases there. Syria and Iran are allies of Russia. They don’t care if the US has a few Troops there. They tell them to keep their heads down. ( Obama tactics)
Back to US Arms makers, when there is a new war, the US themselves upgrades their weapons and its allies like Britain and Canada are also obliged to follow suit, (Your soldiers need the best)
The ME used to be an important crossroad for the World, but now we have new oil resources in
Canada, South America, Africa,( Nigeria) and most important, Trump has opened up Alaska and the rest of the US with great success.

Plus Canada has an Idiot Prime Minister and a few dumb Premiers that say we won’t need oil and gas soon, so as I said , let the ME kill each other.

Um, American Sniper was 2014 and no one was surprised that a Clint Eastwood film starring Bradley Cooper was a hit.

Having said that, there have been similar pro-America films since then that have completely tanked at the box office, so you are clearly talking out of your ass here.

Clint Eastwood is my favorite too, he could make a good movie about a Hernia Operation, but lets tell the truth. The Left is finally correct about something.
Bush and the British were fools to go into Iraq; it was no threat to the West in any way. It was all about the great US Arms Manufacturers getting business in slow times. How many Americans died for that business. Without Saddam Hussein, Iraq has gone to hell in every way, and its future still looks bad. As many of us predicted, they are at war again even though ISIS is almost gone; many back in Canada. The West should leave the ME alone as they will kill each other off.

You would think that the above lesson would be learned by our not too bright Leaders, (Obama-Hilary and Harper) but they did the same thing to Libya and their Leader Gaddafi, causing the Trillion Dollar Migrant problem in Europe and Canada. Great Britain, the slowest to react , may lose their country over the above. Its too early to see if Canada can survive.

Clint Eastwood is the man !
I enjoyed this movie although I was particularly struck with the real footage of Chris Kyle’s funeral procession at the end of the movie .
