Andrew Scheer is the man to lead the Conservatives against Justin Trudeau in 2019 after a pretty dramatic leadership vote Saturday evening.
It must have been tough for Maxime Bernier who led for twelve rounds only to lose on the final 13th ballot 51-49.
But, the great news is all of the candidates came out and supported their new leader though anyone who thinks it’s going to be easy to defeat Trudeau in 2019 is probably getting ahead of themselves.
It can be done but it's going to be a stiff challenge.
Watch as I lay out three reasons why I’m excited about Andrew Scheer as leader - his concerns about free speech on campus, his plan to give us property rights and his prairie boy authenticity.
But I’ll also leave you with three big questions that now face the party after his election.
Will he punch back at the relentless Media Party attacks that have already begun?
Does he have the appropriate experience after being the Speaker for most of his career?
And, can he unite the social conservative and libertarian wings of the party and present a united front against Trudeau in 2019?
