Every year in the Hollywood Reporter, an anonymous member of the Oscar’s Academy dishes the dirt on the nominees, and the big awards show ceremony.
This nameless movie director explains who he voted for and why.
While he admits that he votes for many films for politically-correct reasons, I was surprised that his take on many of these movies lines up with my own.
Like many of my friends here in L.A., he says watching the Mexican migrant melodrama Roma was like watching paint dry. He also has a lot to say about “pariah” director Bryan Singer, and other nominated films like Vice, RBG and BlacKkKlansman.
It’s just too bad that someone as accomplished and powerful as this fellow feels he can only speak candidly about the entertainment industry once a year, and on condition of anonymity.
