Another day, another crony NDP patronage appointment at the McDougall Centre.
Rachel Notley has appointed Chris O'Halloran to be the outreach manager at the Alberta Government's southern Alberta satellite office, the McDougall Centre.
We've got another Notley crony being rewarded with a cushy job at $140,000 per year in the bureaucracy. O'Halloran still is the NDP party president in Alberta and is the acting provincial secretary for the NDP. And he was an official with the United Food and Commercial Workers Union. They're the union that got substantial consultation with the NDP when drafting the farm unionization law, Bill 6.
But this is no surprise. McDougall Center is where Notley buddies get their taxpayer funded rewards for being loyal orange soldiers.
Marcella Munro is an anti pipeline activist from BC and she's now the director of stakeholder outreach and communications at the McDougall Centre. It's a $130,000 per year job and Notley gave it to someone who spent her career campaigning against Alberta.
Then there's Bob Hawkesworth, a failed NDP candidate who lost in a by-election to Wildrose's Prasad Panda. He was appointed to be the executive director of the McDougall Centre within 72 hours of his loss. It's a $150,000 per year job.
Rachel Notley used to rail against these kind of appointments when they were done by the PCs. But just like Animal Farm, a lot of things change when you move into the farmer's house and start wearing his clothes.
