Germany's anti-mass immigration party 'Alternative for Deutschland' has been barred from TV debates after other parties threatened to boycott any debate with AfD.
TV station SWR's director said the decision to exclude the party was made “through gritted teeth”.

Germany will be holding its local elections in March.
The party’s co-chairman, Jörg Meuthen, said excluding his party was an 'attempt at blackmail' by the state's governing parties.
Boudgoust, however, didn't see it that way. “Blackmail is only possible if you have several options, but we did not,” he said.
This comes at a time where Angela Merkel's party has lost nearly half of its support due to its decision to allow an influx of refugees.
