In remarks made at the Unifor convention in Ottawa on Wednesday, Rachel Notley touted her “progressive” gender parity cabinet claiming that the idea of women in government leadership is a “new notion” in Alberta.
A new notion? Maybe women in political leadership is a new thing for the left, but not for the right.
We were electing women to the halls of power when the left was still wearing bell bottoms and burning their bras.
Conservatives have been electing women to lead for so long, no one even notices anymore.
That’s the way it should be.
Watch my video to see the strong history of conservative women in leadership roles in Alberta.
If Rachel Notley wants to hand out a lecture about sexism, she needs to turn around and face her own progressive movement.
Notley should not be too proud of these leftist when one considers their disgusting history. for example: “Like others of the famous five, however, Parlby was an advocate for the eugenics movement in Alberta including the sexual sterilization of the mentally infirm.”
Yes these are the ROOTS OF THE NDP in Alberta…eugenics advocates…perhaps someone needs to remind Notley of her political history in Alberta.
In 1928, the Alberta government (Alberta, Canada) passed eugenics legislation that enabled the involuntary sterilization of individuals classified as mentally deficient (now known as persons with a developmental disability or mental disorder). To implement the Sexual Sterilization Act of Alberta, a four-member Alberta Eugenics Board was created to recommend individuals for sterilization. In 1972, the Act was repealed and the Board dismantled. During its 43 years in operation, the Board approved nearly 5,000 cases and 2,832 sterilizations were performed. The actions of the Board came under public scrutiny in 1995 with Leilani Muir’s successful lawsuit against the Alberta government for wrongful sterilization.
It took Conservatives to end this travesty! No wonder the left always destroys itself in the end…they have no moral basis for their ideas.
The Progressive Conservative party led by Peter Lougheed came to power in 1971 and, a year later, passed the Alberta Bill of Rights. Shortly after, the new provincial government revoked the Sexual Sterilization Act and folded the Alberta Eugenics Board,50 citing three reasons: Primarily, the Act violated fundamental human rights. It was based on medical and genetics theories which are now of questionable scientific validity. It was full of legal ambiguities, most notably in the section exempting surgeons from civil liability.
In the mid-1990s, Leilani Muir, a victim of involuntary sterilization in 1959, sued the Alberta government for wrongful sterilization.51 The case went to full trial in 1995, Muir won the case in 1996, and she was awarded nearly C$1 million in damages and legal costs.52 Since Muir’s precedent-setting trial, over 850 victims have filed lawsuits against the Alberta government; the majority of these have been settled out of court and C$142 million in damages have been awarded.
Since eugenics was considered a scientifically proven idea, perhaps we should not be so quick to adopt science’s supposed truths…we now have global warming as well…how many decades before we discover our great losses due to this other fraud of science falsely so-called. Science is far too often regarded as justification for “scientific religiousity”…belief in science…with priests, high priests and faithful followers…

As a clear and present danger to our youth that they are there should be some way of removing them from positions of responsibility within various levels of education.
All of the superintendents of education throughout this province should be subjected to elected positions thus bending the education system back to the interests of mom and dad and the citizens of this province.
Lol..
Ron or David. Somebody tell Ron to check messenger on facebook. I sent him a message and am waiting for his word file on the proposed Wildrose amendments.

You must be picking a fight with everybody at the site defending the NDP Rachel Notley and her carbon tax policies..
Or surely you jest and this is just a satirical moment.!!
LEVITICUS 2013: AS I and LISA ROSIE posted yesterday, and NDP SUCKS has stated on his post here, the slime would be purged from the PCs if a merger of some sort takes place. I think Kenney and Jean will be able to sort things out from there. They know who the undesirables are, and the result will be a true CONSERVATIVE party devoid of the Jansens, Lukasics and Gills. RESULT: A landslide win by the WILDROSE ( I hope they keep the name) and relegation of the NDP to the dust pan.Let us try to accomplish this guys, otherwise there may very well be no future.
DJBT,the cow, the witch and the walking cigarette
I don’t like the PCs, but they will never die out as a party. Live with it. It is reality.
If you want to make constructive based in reality comments on how to get the right wing in Alberta back to being true conservative, then suggest methods that Kenny can weed out the red crap from the party and then merge the remaining blue conservatives with the Wildrose, because wishing away the PC party is a fantasy, and conservative minded people do not live in a fantasy world like the left wing socialists do!
No feminist…male or female…campaigns for election on a feminist ticket. So naieve gullible voters elect them. Once it becomes evident that they harbour a grudge against men they just don’t stay elected and those that manage to remain in politics it is because of crony appointments.
Oil prices have been held higher by central banks ($25T held by central banks), but with production continuing at high rates, they are running out of places to put the oil.
When oil dies, Alberta dies as does Notley.
We cannot unite the right. The PCs have to die a natural death and then rebuild and the NDP’s must be pushed into oblivion to never resurface in this province again.
To unite the right would just water down the wild rose party which would serve nobody’s benefit but the liberalist progressive conservative members which would ultimately infect the wild rose party:
Kenney and Jean are aware of the realities as I have been monitoring this particular subject on facebook. The PC’s will not die but when Kenney wins the leadership job the progressives need to be forced out. Jansen and Lukaszuk have already said they were interested in opposing Kenney for the job. These two are at or near the top of the progressive list of people that need to be forced out. The other obvious reject is Gill.
The PC’s and Wildrose must merge to ensure a strong majority and put a stake in the heart of the NDP. Vote splitting again is not a viable option but the Wildrose is gaining in support and financial donations. Forcing out the progressives is not going to be easy but we need to wait until Kenney wins the PC leadership job and see how this issue progresses. Kenney and Jean are in agreement to merger talks and both will turn to the grassroots members for approval. IMO there is no choice. The right must unite and sort out any internal policy fighting after the merger.
