The Wildrose Party want an investigation after documents obtained through Freedom of Information revealed the NDP Energy Department’s Assistant Deputy Minister ordered the Balancing Pool CEO to delete an email due to “sensitive and transitory” information.
The official opposition is concerned that the NDP are being secretive in their dealings with power companies regarding the cancellation of Power Purchase Agreements.
Alberta Justice is already under investigation for delays, time extensions and sometimes not even responding at all to Freedom of Information requests.
Isn't this exactly what Albertans voted against in the last election?
The NDP’s defence is that they’re understaffed, but public sector jobs have increased dramatically since they took the reigns.
In fact, the Edmonton area missed out on receiving Employment Insurance benefits precisely due to the public sector hiring spree undertaken by the NDP in the region.
Maybe the Freedom of Information commissioner can tack on a deleted emails investigation and look into the ridiculous costs the NDP charge for documents while they’re at it.
