As gun control debate heats up, industry trade event “Shot Show” grows too

Brian LilleyArchive

Cam Edwards, host of Cam & Company on NRA News joins me to discuss “Shot Show” the Shooting, Hunting and Outdoor Trade Show and Conference for the firearms, ammunition, hunting and shooting accessories industry.

The popular annual event which isn’t open to the public, attracts about 55,000 people which Cam notes is like a small city where, as cool as the products are, it’s the fascinating people that really make it such an incredible event.

We also discuss common misconceptions about guns and the tendency of politicians to focus on law-abiding gun owners instead of criminals.

Hi Greg – I have to agree with you especially regarding non violent solutions. Withholding taxes or other civil disobedience can be achieved to reign in Government that have lost their concept of being Civil SERVANTS and now they have moved into the halls of being our OVERLORDS. Violence begets more violence and sets off a cycle of violence. They (our Overlords) actually prefer violence because they have set themselves up as purveyors of violent force. But, What would they do if the truckers parked their trucks, the farmers parked their tractors at planting season? What if tax payers didn’t file their tax returns, taxi drivers parked their cars , longshoremen did offload the cargo’s, trains didn’t move etc. etc… Than we would see where the real power lies. No violence necessary.

I have an idea… Why don’t the RCMP and the liberals get together and decide what guns criminals and gangsters can’t have..
That way they can leave law abiding citizens alone and it will save the taxpayers a lot of money..

Popularity of organized sport shooting and hunting as public pastimes are without doubt growing and with them the legitimate sporting arms industry – violent armed crime is declining dramatically, this too is undeniable. So there really is no need for a gun control “debate” unless one comes at the issue either misinformed or with social malice as their core motivation.

Now that we have Prime Minister Zoolander in office. It will be interesting to see if gun sales go up, just like they did under Obama in the USA.
Get’em before they’re gone type of thing.

Trudeau is setting Canada for a Turkey Shoot, we are going to be the Turkey’s.

Are we all going to sit around and let it happen?

Just a thought… I think race and education have a lot to do with crime rates…
Unfortunately some races even in civilized countries are way more backwards then those that strive to become educated and with education comes knowledge with knowledge comes understanding and with understanding comes wisdom.
Organize, organize ,organize and use our vastly superior numbers against their basically numberless count . They can only do this if we do not provide resistance. None of this has to be violent and all can be achieved through nonviolent civil disobedience. The key is not blowing off steam on these blogs but physically getting out there finding like-minded people, develop a plan of nonviolent means and follow it through.
Just imagine if 40 or 50% of small, medium and large cities never received their property taxes. They would basically be held hostage to the will of the people as you could not put 40% of the houses in those cities and towns up for sale. It would be suicide for the municipality. To hurt the money people who make the laws it’s simple hit them where they hurt and that’s in the money.

@ Frank Koeksal – and it was Mao that said – political power comes from the business end of a gun (or words to that effect)

Now that it looks like the someone is shooting up a school in La Loch Saskatchewan you can be sure the grabbers are out and looking for any excuse to come and get ’em.

I suspect the Dene because nothing was said of the name, the age or the race of the shooter.

When those are not reported it usually means you have to read between the lines.

Guess who said this:
Under no pretext should arms and ammunition be surrendered; any attempt to disarm the workers must be frustrated, by force if necessary. The destruction of the bourgeois democrats’ influence over the workers, and the enforcement of conditions which will compromise the rule of bourgeois democracy, which is for the moment inevitable, and make it as difficult as possible – these are the main points which the proletariat and therefore the League must keep in mind during and after the approaching uprising.
The Grand Daddy of the Left….Karl Marx
So what does that tell you?

PAUL SMITH, we could request the wildlife department have an open season on Liberals – wouldn’t that be fun?
There would be a huge fight over who gets to hunt in Ottawa first. Maybe they could have Limited Entry Hunting on Liberals like they do for Moose in BC.
Can’t wait!

HPB3515, I agree with you 100%, however I don’t think it will ever happen with a Lieberal in power, and the RCMP in charge. But one can hope.

Here are some real fact;
Countries with the highest murder rate by guns compaired to the people that are armed. Rated from worst to better number one is the worst.

1) Brazil 8 weapons per 100 residents
2) Indian 4.2 weapons per 100 residents
3) Nigeria 1.5 weapons per 100 residents
4) Mexico 15 weapons per 100 residents
5) D. Republic of Congo 1.4 weapons per 100 residents
6) South Africa 12.7 weapons per 100 residents
7) Venezuela 10.7 weapons per 100 residents
8) Colombia 5.9 weapons per 100 residents
9) Pakistan 11.6 weapons per 100 residents
10) Russia 8.9 weapons per 100 residents
11) United States 112.6 weapons per 100 residents.
and so on and so on.
Do you know where Canada is ranked in the world?

83) Canada 30.8 weapons per 100 residents

Do you see a pattern from the information, if you can keep the population of the country in question below 8% armed, there will be a higher crime rate and also the governments can instill fear and take over the population.

Any Questions please feel free. We as Canadians need to stay armed just like the U.S.A. that way the crime rates don’t increase to high. The average person doesn’t know who is armed and who isn’t.

Nothing more than people control.

Liberals hate you if you own a firearm.

We lost all of ours in a house fire last year.

I advise people to oil them up and hide them away – they are coming for them.

It will start soon.

Gun owning law abiding citizens present absolutely no threat to other law abiding citizens… gun free zones are targets for criminals and other sub humans who wish to do harm on innocent people Because they know there is nobody there to stop them and the authorities usually only arrive after the fact to take bodies away and to take statements from survivors.
I don’t think there was ever a time in history where murderers and thieves bothered to take the time to obtain a gun permit before going on their murderous rampages.. unarmed citizens are targets and resources for the criminal element who would do them wrong. The statistics are out there for every country who practices gun control… Either the crime rate goes straight up and through the roof because only the criminals have guns or the country evolves into a armed dictatorship who through violence and aggression subvert the people… the lessons of gun control should be represented by cold hard facts that speak for themselves in a positive light and not based on knee-jerk reactions or crying emotions that have no place in objective and critical thinking.
If gun control worked then police would not ever need to be armed.. Taking guns away from law-abiding citizens does not take guns away from criminals or do anything to help us it only leaves us defenseless to protect ourselves from a threatening element.
Switzerland has an automatic military style tactical rifle Tucked away with ammunition in almost each and every household… Nobody bothers to mention that it has one of the lowest violent crime rates in the world.. And they as law abiding gun owners don’t run around shooting each other up.
Whoever reads this post please make a comment one way or the other if you agree or disagree with the statements I’ve made..

I am for an open carry law here in Canada and we should be legally able to defend our home against these predators that live among us!
