As nation states make comeback, Left steps up attacks on free speech

Tanveer AhmedRebel Commentator

Free speech has become a lightning rod issue dividing Left/Right politics across the Western world.

While the issue has its own specific, pertinent arguments, it has become a way to channel rising nationalist sentiment that does not have easy outlets in the modern, multicultural state.

I’m nationalistic and proud. I feel Canada is better than most other countries and an not ashamed to say it. Sorry Justin.

Mongrel that also explains why the left does not think very much.

I liked Mr. Ahmed’s statement, “The freedom to speak is the freedom to think.”

Ok then, the left hates free speech so they can not speak, we like free speech , so we will speak freely. Sounds good to me.

Philip Tessier well said and i totally agree. And i have no problem with others feeling the same pride for valid reasons.

Identity politics means you have given up on thinking….
One of the many downfalls of multiculturalism is the bigotry of low expectations…excessive explorations of explaining away criminal behaviour based on cultural differences and pretending less accountability is a humanitarian response. This is not acceptable or recommended in democratic nations built on fundamental values which have deep roots in Judeo-Christian practices.
Canadian citizenship is a lot more than having a passport from Canada!

Proud to be white and thank you to my ancestors who helped build this great country. Everyone needs to be as proud of their ethnic heritage as I am regardless of what that may be. Screw identity politics!

Freedom of speech can only be a crime if it is espoused by and uttered by a Conservative.
