Atlantic Canada's anti-oil policies put reliance on transfer payments at risk

Ezra LevantRebel Commander

On last night's show, I explained how anti-fracking policies in Atlantic Canada are making it lag behind more competitive jurisdictions and how the death of the Energy East pipeline will only cause further damage to their economy.

Unemployment is rampant in Atlantic Canada where fracking is outlawed, but they continue to receive billions in equalization payments from oil-producing provinces like Alberta and Saskatchewan.

The left has shown no sign of ending their war on the Canadian oil and gas industry, if they're successful it could mean transfer payments to Atlantic Canada will be cut in half.

In Nova Scotia.

They rejected natural gas pipe lines being buried about one meter below the ditches. This is done all over Canada. They rejected clean burning natural gas (they have it off shore) for OPEC Fuel oil. Most homes still use it.
Instead of getting off ME oil and creating jobs to keep their young people at home. This is why they are a have not province. If the rest of Canada wants to support foreign countries, giving them of billions of dollars. All the while bringing in free loaders while our people try to pay these outrageous electricity bills and taxes. Seniors, disabled, veterans are ignored. Why would we stay in confederation, it should be called confiscation. Keep supporting liebral foreign oil. the transfer payments will cease.

Change was a good idea in the last election but it will be more so in the next .

New Brunswick aside, Nova Scotia is even in deeper dire straits… They’ve been playing the Liberal/NDP/Liberal game for decades and the smelly smelt tidal flats have come home to roost… Unless there is a magically elevated demand for lobster, its rural areas, outside of “ship building subsidized” Halifax, will continue to be miles of rural roads laden with old houses and seniors shuffling around as their offspring strive for jobs in Alberta or Saskatchewan… But the thought of even some fracking exploration!?!… Not until there are no more welfare cheques to be had…

In another post I commented that the only politician in Canada with a backbone to criticize Mr. Trudeau’s gov’t is Frank McKenna, well I was only half right. Premier Brad Wall also has plenty of backbone & made his views known on Global News about how he feels regarding Trudeau & his oil policies & how things have to change re equalization payments from the west to the east, citing Quebec as the biggest takers, all the while Coderre, Montreal mayor gloating about TC Energy east not going forward. The Premier is absolutely 100% correct & residents of Ab & Saskatchewan should be protesting that it be stopped, & then will Coderre still be applauding & gloating??
Ron Voss……RIGHT ON!!!!

Kelvin Bond—-I can see that you are frustrated with this stupid Country which is Canada.
Imagine we are an Energy Superpower as Harper said, and we have a few little refineries that can only refine a small percentage of our needs. We give the US the oil and the jobs to refine our oil. Vancouver Airport relies on Washington State for their Jet Fuel even though its Canadian oil.
We have tons of Natural Gas in BC , but the moron running Vancouver has banned Natural Gas for any new building projects.
We are not allowed to use clean coal, however we ship it all over the world. Isn’t their air our air, so why don’t we use it ?
Yes, it’s a mad mad world.

Yea well, who signs the checques, and who mails them off to the laurentian elites? No one in Alberta or Saskatchewan has shown they have balls, and told trudope to stick it. Separate like Quebec, sounds fine to me.

I have no sympathy for the east coast free loaders – they voted clean sweep lieberal and are now reaping the rewards.

Screw them!

Keith Barnes, I second that!

The west should separate, build ten refineries, ten coal fired power plants and under cut OPEC.
No more transfer payments, Let the purposefully have not provinces clean up their own messes.
Currently there is no incentive for have not provinces to do anything. why get off the gravy train.
Once the entire energy industry is in ruins. Turdo and company plan to sell it to their ME buddies for peanuts.
Notice no new regulations for the countries that ship 800,000 barrels a day to Canada up the St. Lawrence. No up stream down stream taxes no carbon taxes for them.

The leftard policies of keeping our natural resources in the ground will force all governments to search out every nook and cranny for taxes and user fees
They will even tax welfare recipients and old age pensioners by simply cutting back , at the same time intrest rates will sky rocket, just like in the days of the CRIMEMINISTER’S father
This will cause the little potatoe recession, but only in Canada

I appreciated that New Brunswick MLA Brian Macdonald, a conservative politician, was willing to appear on The Rebel a few nights ago when so many so-called conservative politicians are gun shy about doing so. However, I would have a question for Macdonald, does he buy into the hoax of so-called man-made climate change?

I have come to realize that if he and other so-called conservative politicians have done so, that is, have gone along with this hoax of man-made climate change, have *not*challenged it publicly, then they are complicit as far as the consequences, such as the killing of Energy East, helping to put the nails in the coffin of “a carbon-based industry in Canada”, the declared objective of Trudeau’s senior political adviser, Gerald Butts.

If our so-called conservative politicians are not AGAINST the purveyors of the hoax of man-made climate change and their message, namely, the socialists (like Naomi ‘Leap Manifesto’ Klein and Gerald Butts), Climate Barbie, unions, globalists (like Soros), anti-oil environmrntal organizations like WWF-Canada which receive foreign money to kill our industry, actors like Jane Fonda and Leonardo DiCaprio, David Suzuki (fruit fly scientist), entertainers like Neil Young, Al Gore, Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton, Pope Francis, the bought-media (unlike The Rebel Media), U.N. bureaucrats, etc., then they are FOR them, and, thereby, complicit, that is, willingly or unwillingly accomplices as far as the consequences, such as the killing of Energy East!

There are amongst us, those who wish to destroy their own Country. They too should also be destroyed.
