Baboonish behaviour: NDP MLA “heckles” during question about correctional officer suicides in Alberta

Sheila Gunn ReidRebel Host | The Gunn Show

There are a couple of actual conservatives holding down the fort in the PC caucus and sometimes, they even ask the government valid questions. True to form, the NDP treats them with the same contempt they treat every other Albertan who dares question them.

This time it was interim PC leader Ric McIver on the receiving end of the NDP spite. He asked the Premier a question in the Legislature about PTSD and suicides among correctional peace officers in Alberta. His question was met with heckling and jeers from the government side. The NDP heckled a question about suicide. How gross is that?

Suicides are a serious problem in Alberta. There has been a 30% jump in the rate of suicides in this province over the last year and it would be nice if the government didn’t act like bunch of baboons when someone asks them what, if anything, they are doing about it.

One Saskatchewan based study showed that PTSD rates of correctional officers is nearly as high as the rates seen in Vietnam veterans, at around 20%. These officers see rapes, assaults, hostage takings and sometimes murders. I’m no prude about heckling in the legislature, but when an honourable member is talking about suicide, shut your mouth and act like a grown up.

It was confirmed to me by a few sources that the heckler is MLA for Fort Saskatchewan-Vegreville, Jessica Littlewood. She, of all people should know better and respond to the suicides of corrections officers like an adult, with seriousness and dignity. Let me tell you why.

Littlewood has one provincial correctional facility within her riding and another federal prison just outside of her riding with many of the staff from that particular prison living right in Fort Saskatchewan. The correctional facilities are huge employers in town. This fact might have been evident to Littlewood if she had lived in or even campaigned in the riding before election day.

Let’s just all imagine how the media would treat a Wildrose MLA had they behaved the way Littlewood has. Mainstream media would be running columns for days, trying to wring an apology out of them.

But it’s the NDP so you’ll only read about it here.

The NDP is almost completely devoid of morality in any instance. So such base behaviour by a female MLA can be considered quite normal! It is disgusting. It is totally lacking in respect. It is totally indicative of the NDP especially under the likes of an evil witch like Rachel Notley!

Sheila, is it corrects that your MLA Ms. Littlewood has personally banned you from her Twitter account? It’s disgusting that in a democracy an individual charged with the responsibility of representing her constituents is not interested in listening to their concerns. You should be complaining to the Premier.

You can guarantee that they are already working on a way to rig the election! These people don’t want to lose power now. They’ve gotten a taste for power and control, and these people are beyond reason. They think nothing of sticking it to the people who are paying for this circus!

“Even though we won’t be having a election for a while I strongly encourage people to be scrutineers.”

Now that really wouldn’t surprise me, ballot stuffing 101

Since clearly the ndp does not care about Albertans, why would they care of some percentage commit suicide? Why would they care if the percentage is going up?

If they did care, in the ndp way of doing things, they would increase the unionized civil service adding a care department, where they can have a sub department the suicide care department. Just think of it a government with the department that actually cares about you, while at least studies you anyway.

Canadian Mongrel – Steve told it well! Here it is for those who don’t know the song!

I will always miss those days in the country, and I wish I’d never had to leave! Debbie

“Copperhead Road”

Well my name’s John Lee Pettimore
Same as my daddy and his daddy before
You hardly ever saw Grandaddy down here
He only came to town about twice a year
He’d buy a hundred pounds of yeast and some copper line
Everybody knew that he made moonshine
Now the revenue man wanted Grandaddy bad
He headed up the holler with everything he had
It’s before my time but I’ve been told
He never came back from Copperhead Road
Now Daddy ran the whiskey in a big block Dodge
Bought it at an auction at the Mason’s Lodge
Johnson County Sheriff painted on the side
Just shot a coat of primer then he looked inside
Well him and my uncle tore that engine down
I still remember that rumblin’ sound
Well the sheriff came around in the middle of the night
Heard mama cryin’, knew something wasn’t right
He was headed down to Knoxville with the weekly load
You could smell the whiskey burnin’ down Copperhead Road

I volunteered for the Army on my birthday
They draft the white trash first,‘round here anyway
I done two tours of duty in Vietnam
And I came home with a brand new plan
I take the seed from Colombia and Mexico
I plant it up the holler down Copperhead Road
Well the D.E.A.’s got a chopper in the air
I wake up screaming like I’m back over there
I learned a thing or two from ol’ Charlie don’t you know
You better stay away from Copperhead Road

I forgot, they also had two dogs with them, and they searched our property. Though at the time my step-father owned two and half sections of land. There was no way they had the resources to search it all, so they searched the home quarter.

Regan Jonny – making moonshine will definitely be on the rise, as taxes keep going up. In the early 70’s, my siblings and I were taught how to use a still by my step-father. My brother had to sleep in the room where his mash was brewing, and I told him that just going in his room made me feel light headed from the smell. If anyone makes it, just be careful who you tell, because the fines are outrageous. The government doesn’t like to share. Someone in the neighbourhood reported them, and one of our neighbours had to pay a steep fine. We had party-lines back then, and when the 6-cars, and 12-plainclothes officers knocked on our door, one of them went to pull out his ID, and my step-father told him not to bother. He said to the guy, “do you see that thing up there”, and he was pointing to the phone, he said “don’t touch it, it’s red hot!” That morning they had been drinking it, but they had everything gone by the time they showed up, and they had a jug of wine on the table to replace it! Those were the days!

As the years go by and more youth find there way into politics, along with them, they bring their typical condescending, elitist, juvenile, disrespectful attitude. There is no question many, if not most of today’s youth, have not been expected to carry on the traditional behaviours of common decency, even in Parliament.
People don’t seem to take notice of my opinion that, in Canada, youth are running the show though they are not qualified. And now one of them has made it to the top and is now PM of Canada.

REGAN JONNY: It makes sense to sharpen up our bartering skills, and the reason is two fold. One is the immediate screwing of the NDP by keeping our money out of their hands as much as possible. The other reason is that if the Socialist-Communist regime we have in power succeeds in turning us into Venezuela North, bartering amongst the populace may be tantamount to survival. My father drilled one thing into my head as a youngster that he gleaned from going through the Great Depression as a young man. He said," when you roll up to the grocery store with a wheelbarrow full of cash to buy a loaf of bread, or you start wall papering your house with cash, you KNOW you are in trouble. I believe DAVID HEINZE has a link to his website that he posted yesterday on another topic, I went their to view his quiz. There happened to be a clip below his quiz showing what $25 is in Venezuelan currency looks like today. The actual paper is approaching knee deep, and don’t think this couldn’t happen here in our" modern" world. At all cost WE THE PEOPLE OF ALBERTA must do our utmost to STOP the carbon tax and STOP the suicidal plunge into massive wind and solar power schemes. Everyone should sharpen up on their gardening skills etc. cause you sure might need them. God help us all.

Deborah Graupner The underground economy is alive and well. The more these progressive idiots take and raise taxes the more it will progress. Barter trade whatever it takes just don’t give them anything if it can be helped, I for one can see moonshining being big business real soon, they have created the perfect storm for it, high prices and high taxes. Screw the NDP out of every cent you can folks THEY DO NOT DESERVE OUR TAX MONEY
commented 2016-06-04 09:59:49 -0400
they can smile all they want, 3 more years then they will be exterminated, Most of these NDP fools will be lucky to get a job at macdonalds when the next election is over, beware folks anyone with a 4 year blank in the resume could be one of these fools. Do not hire them.

I still remember Ralph holding that sign “paid in full!” It brings tears to my eyes now to see how out of touch voters are, to have elected communists to destroy our way of life. We had it so good, and now we are left to pick up the scraps, once these losers are ousted.

I used to travel to SK, the Yorkton area, often during the NDP’ reign of terror there, to visit family. The highway was like a goat path, and you had to drive slow because there were patches of old pavement and grid road. Nothing improved for the people until they finally elected Wall. The NDP hate the people, but love stealing our money, and lording it over us, and wasting it on what they want, not what’s needed. And the anti-everything thing crowd has been well trained to childishly act out, and cause disturbances, so that nobody else can be heard. If my children acted like that, I would have punished them for it. Of course since the premier is a labour lawyer, she has turned into a spoilt brat with blinders on, and does tricks only for her pets, the union. Luckily AB has some of the best highways around, but by the time we oust these traitors, we will need to repair them. I miss living under a conservative government, and I can’t help thinking what Ralph or Peter would think about our dire circumstances.

My riding in Whitecourt has the ever stupid, dense so-called Agricultural Minister, Carlier who knows absolutely nothing about farmers and ranchers. He looks as stupid as he is. Imagine an oil and gas service town and idiots here voted ndpee. Still wake up every morning not believing I am in an ndpee province. Our county is horrible as well, spending hundreds of thousands dollars renovating their offices, huge shop in their yard put up, enormous amount of fill brought into their yard and absolutely nothing for our horrible roads. I phoned to complain as they were suppose to resurface it this year for sure and was told again, 3rd year in a row, “WE DON’T HAVE ANY MONEY LEFT FOR ROADS SO NOTHING WILL BE DONE AGAIN.” THE ONLY THING WE NEED THEM BASTARDS FOR IS TO FIX OUR ROADS AND AGAIN THEY SPENT EVERYTHING ON THEMSELVES. WHAT A USELESS BUNCH OF STEALERS AND LIARS AT THE TROUGH.

SARAH M: Your first post an hour ago sounds similar to the Federal election when body rub parlor boy, Jack Layton pulled his folly off in Kebec. Remember the douche who was in Las Vegas during the election, couldn’t speak French, and I don’t think she was ever in her supposed riding prior to the election, gets elected. Were Albertans as stupid? Yes, even my riding went NDP. I can sense disgruntled rumblings coming from my parents grave. I might puke.

CAN MONG: Thanks for the traffic report from the Peace Country, a hilarious one I might add.

NDP SUCKS: You’re right.

Even though we won’t be having a election for a while I strongly encourage people to be scrutineers.
During the last election I was a scrutineer, all of the poll clerks were openly NDP supporters. They were a group of friends that traveled together to my town. They were high fiving each other while counting ballots, even though you’re supposed to completely non partisan during the entire process. There was no scrutineer present before the ballot boxes were sealed that morning. I have no doubt that they would pull election fraud to hold onto their little power trip.

Again, to be fair, Vegreville and Vermilion both start with ‘Ve’

At least she did not end up in Ft Vermilion, that’s a plus I guess.

I used to live in her riding. Rumor has it that she got lost driving from Fort Saskatchewan to Vegreville and ended up in Vermillion. Quite the dim bulb. Rather her husband got lost driving because she didn’t have a drivers license. He quit his job to chauffeur her around during the election campaign.
Most of the campaign signs around Fort Sask never even had her name on them, just NDP.
She was/is another typical zero like the rest of the yoga instructor, coffee barrista, basement dwellers.

Canadian Mongrel – I guess this is how they are improving the environment, by driving away the private sector jobs. Traffic in Calgary is down about 30%, and they say the unemployment rate is 8.6%. I believe it’s much closer to the 20% mark, and may even be higher. I just hope that we can make through to the next election. I only hope and pray that these younger generations that voted for this, don’t give us a repeat in the next election. If I need any work done, I will pay for it under the table. I will help someone in the private sector anyday, over any one in a union. I have never seen such incompetence in my life! I just hope that we don’t get as bad as Venezuela, where I hear they are eating cats and dogs, and I’ve even heard cannibalism mentioned.

One thing you have to say about Brian Mason as Transport Minister is that he has reduced traffic congestion. Today I drove North from Peace River for work, only one tractor trailer to pass. Earlier to Red Earth…not one. Two weeks ago, South and two. Four weeks ago, West and same thing. Mind you last fall when I was coming home from the West, I got caught up in a company move from Grande Prairie to Ft St John but that was just a temporary congestion situation taken care of by January when most of the companies moved or shut down.

So be fair, Brian, Rachel, Ms. Invisible all have done great things to improve traffic congestion. Nary a commercial tractor trailer to be found on the roads.
