While BC once led the pack in GDP growth among Canadian provinces, less than two months into Horgan’s NDP-Green government, things couldn’t get worse for our beleaguered LNG industry.
In addition to jeopardizing 2,200 jobs on the Site C dam sending it off for a fake review, Petronas’ decision to pull out of their massive multi-billion dollar LNG project and the NDP’s opposition to the Kinder Morgan pipeline, now they’ve announced they’ll be conducting a scientific review of fracking.
This is just another nail in the LNG coffin.
The science is clear on fracking. When wells are fracked and cement casings are done correctly, fracking does not threaten groundwater as suggested by the myths pushed ten years ago by far left activist and filmmaker Josh Fox in his film Gasland.
Watch as I show you how there is disagreement over fracking and the natural gas industry within the NDP cabinet, with Premier Horgan even once suggesting that we do fracking pretty well in BC.
But with anti-fossil fuel extremists like former Sierra Club director George Heyman as environment minister, I wonder if Horgan has cut a deal with the Green Party to include an anti-fracking position.
After all, it will be much easier for Horgan to appease Heyman, Mungall, Andrew Weaver and their environmentalist allies if this fracking review goes the way I think it might, and that will just jeopardize billions of dollars in investment.
