No, being a selfish single mom isn’t “cool.” It’s bad for your children.

Gavin McInnesArchive

I'm sick of all these articles written by women talking about how "cool" and "bad ass" they are for being single moms.

The selfishness on display is amazing -- it's all about how "happy" they are.

But what about their children? Studies show that children raised by single moms are much more likely to end up in prison or pregnant.

“Instead, we should deny them the right to divorce and insist that they stay in relationships where they are beaten and raped endlessly. "
Balance. If your wife is abusing you, by all means divorce her. Of course, in the current climate you’ll have a tough case getting custody of the kids, but that’s another question. But, if on the other hand, you are just falling out of love with her, try to keep up a friendly even if somewhat cold relationship until the kids grow up. You are adults, you can deal with each other like adults for several years now that you’ve spawned some responsibilities with two legs.
Vice-versa: this excuse is what keeps a lot of people in abusive relationships. I can’t stress this enough.
This is why professionals are so important. Or, at least, one should educate oneself what an “abusive relationship” really is. But “just dump her” is irresponsible to the kids, and unprofessional.

My good Allah/ God,

Not all men are abusive! Shit, slow down on the argument about the abuse of woman already. I know personnally over 40 people in my life that the divorce was cuased by both parties. But the one that pisses me off the most, was that both the woman and the man found different loves in their lifes and still they didn’t last. The average person in todays society will give up on almost everything, including relationships. The argument for abuse is a coppout and the argument can’t be won on either side. Women who think all men are abusive will never change, just like man who think all women are cheaters will never change. This can be all boiled down to people just not communicating each other, and expressing each others side of the situation. If people would be truthful and not beat around the bush on serious matters, then the marriage institution would be stronger. This all stems to the political correctness that is being forced down every ones throat. Everyone now adays is afraid to be that bad person.

NEIL KULIN agreed they should require a license

“Does this mean I should have just submitted to the abuse?”

No, because the marriage contract was void when he violated it. He didn’t live up to his end of it and thus it isn’t a marriage anymore. Divorce has nothing to do with it. This was clear before divorce was ever invented, but got lost in the modern culture’s worship of the new and shiny.

None of this explains why No-Fault Divorce is so beloved by progressives though. It literally has nothing to do with cases like this.

“Instead, we should deny them the right to divorce and insist that they stay in relationships where they are beaten and raped endlessly. "

“Use your head”, he says after using an extreme example in a very tiny minority of cases which already violate marriage as it is supposed to be. Like all progressive “thinking” this is just emotional nonsense.

Divorce has done irrefutable damage to society. That is a fact. If nothing is done, things will only get worse.

Instead, we should deny them the right to divorce and insist that they stay in relationships where they are beaten and raped endlessly.

Do you think that would improve incarceration or success rates for the children involved? Look past the baseline statistics and use your head …

I said this 20 years ago ._. People should require a license to have a child.

Allie Heppner I don’t read it that way, yes I agree some men are abusive assholes so are some women, Kids do best with both parents in the home is what I get from it. Every small town has the welfare mom who keeps pumping out kids usually ,not always they turn out the same as the parent and the cycle continues. To many have kids way before they are ready for them and the kids suffer. I know this as me and my wife adopted two kids from the exact same type of family described above. The mother has no business having kids and has had four more, no father present in any cases.

Do you brow beat and advise all women to be paired parents? What are you saying? Some men are abusive assholes! This article essentially attempts to bully women into staying in a relationship just to keep a dad around? This is an article provided by a jaded douche’ canoe who belittles the women who walk away. The ones who feel empowered by feeling strong and capable. Some women are equal to this douche’, some of them are even single parents. This is the most biased thing I have heard.
I couldn’t even pursue child support because dad was deemed to much of a risk to our safety. Does this mean I should have just submitted to the abuse? LIKE BLOODY HELL.

Women who purposely bear children out of wedlock should automatically be charged with child abuse. There is nothing that benefits a child more than and intact family, i.e. a father and a mother.

Long story short. I once went to a city housing high rise filled with single mothers. From the things I saw within one hour, I became angry and then sad and still tear up today thinking about it.

Robert – yup it is. Especially considering domestic violence and sexual abuse is statistically twice as likely to occur in that home than a heterosexual couple, and EVEN HIGHER if it is lesbian.

I enjoyed that. I can’t stand those ‘mommy’ articles.
As for therapy, ya, that is what drives most sane partners from seeking it, as they know that the therapist just wants your money, and couldn’t care less who gets hurt. Not to mention the men never get the help. It is always the women who were wronged, get the kids, and the home.

Single moms – you can date them 5 at a time. The banging gets lame after a while, but they do like to make up for lost time.

Eventually you have to leave because they try and push their kids on you.

Thanks so much for being the jerk that tells everyone the truth.

I think you should offer marriage advice on how to stay together.

Dear Diary;
TGIF Always a good day to do some reflecting and ponder some strategies.
After promising to start to kick my economy it’s now showing the energy level and vitality of a zombie, so announcing that there will be a cost/benefit study to consider changes to the appearance of cigarette packaging will be just the ticket to stimulate it.
Food prices, like unemployment, continue to increase, so changing the words of my National Anthem will cheer my people up.
It wasn’t too long ago that it was declared that for one dollar a man earns, non-men are paid about 77 cents. The Loonie has skyrocketed from the low that I took it to and, in sympathy with feminism, is now worth 77 cents, so now is the perfect time to find some chick to be the first Canadian woman to be portrayed on Canadian currency. What’s that? There’s been one already? Shhh, not a word to anyone about Princess Patricia, especially to Bill.

I completely agree Robert!

I submit that same sex parents adopting kids is ALSO child abuse.
