Ben-Dror Yemini: Anti-Israel "BDS movement has proven that ignorance is power"

Igal HechtIsrael Correspondent

The "Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions" movement, commonly known as "BDS", was started in 2005 in an effort to put economic pressure on Israel to end what the movement calls Israel's occupation, and colonization of Palestinian land.

It's hard to measure the impact the movement has had over the past 10 years but the political and social ramifications have been a constant struggle for the country's reputation.

I recently sat down with Ben-Dror Yemini, Israeli journalist and author of The Industry of Lies, a book which explores the BDS movement which he says has grown even stronger in American colleges and universities over the last five years.

we sit here in our comfortable homes (community) and don’t realize our contribution to the muffling of free thinking and expression… blaming corporations for the world’s woes, yet take no responsibility for own actions or inactions, against our freedoms…

Why has this BDS movement not been charged for spreading hate? There are hate crime laws and they apply to everyone.

Everybody that is a part of this BDS movement are racists, if they had the power they would do what the Nazi’s did, this is pure hatred and nothing more. Until these so called “humanitarian groups” go after countries that actually abuse human rights then this movement is a joke. Most are from Hamas or Hamas supporters and want nothing to do but spread their hatred.

If that headline is true, I meet a lot of VERY powerful people on a daily basis.

BDS is indeed a scourge at western universities. But a few brave souls, like Ben Shapiro did at this UCLA BDS vote, are taking it on and winning:

Mr. Yemini makes a great point by iterating “ignorance is power”; what makes it even more powerful is the regressive left relishes its ignorance and promotes it. This makes it dangerous to Jews, anti-Semitism is a basic principle of Socialists: from National Socialism through Soviet Socialism and on to our current “Democratic” Socialism, one does not need to scratch deeply to find anti-Semitism.

His second point was that the BDS have Jews as members. Anti-Semitic socialist movements have always had ‘intellectual’ Jews involved, including the National Socialists. It did not work out too terribly well for Trotsky with the Soviet Socialists.

Final point is the irony that Israel is an inclusive socialist society, with its kibitzes, once canonized by the left. However, when you get the payout from Arab oil money like the left N.G.O.’s you go where the money is.

Socialism = Anti-Semitism
