Benefits of Ontario’s coal phase-out debunked by Fraser Institute study: Will Notley take heed?

Sheila Gunn ReidRebel Host | The Gunn Show

The Fraser Institute has just released a new study that says the phase-out of coal fired electricity in Ontario has not significantly affected the air quality there.

The Fraser Institute tracked pollutants in the atmosphere over time and they're saying something the Ontario government won’t.

The study, in part, reads:

“The effect was not statistically significant in Toronto or Hamilton. We find no evidence that the coal phase-out reduced Nitrogen oxide levels, which were instead strongly affected by reduction in US nitrogen oxide emissions.”

“We find a statistically significant reduction in peak O3 levels from the coal phase-out, offset by a significant increase associated with natural gas plant emissions”.

Nothing the Ontario government did in their pursuit of cleaner air made any real difference and all they really did was replace one ozone emissions source for another, while costing Ontario ratepayers billions and plunging them into energy poverty.

And what about all the healthcare savings Ontarians were promised by Dalton McGuinty if they just let him get rid of all that reliable coal electricity that he claimed was polluting their air?

Watch my video to see if those savings ever materialized. If you’re from Ontario, you already know the answer.

Here in Alberta, the NDP are going to plunder along in the same clumsy way as Ontario. They're phasing out cheap, reliable electricity for no other reason than it is what their green socialist ideology commands of them.

The NDP are using the same tired debunked excuses for their bad ideas that Ontario did.

Of course she Notley or Tru-idiot won’t change their policies despite evidence to the contrary of their position.

If the per capita cost of Ontario health care only went up $378 or 11%, and the Health Transfer from the big bad Conservatives went up by 6% per year or by 40% over the period 2009-2016, then where did the rest of the money go? Assuming a population of 14 million then the spending should be increased by an extra 29%. Population 2009 ~ 12.5m, 2016 14m. Health spending 2009 = $ 44B Health spending 2016 =$54B So where did the other 10Billion in 2016 go?

Don’t forget how wretched Rachael did some of her best grandstanding with the duck incident involving Syncrude. I can’t remember how many millions were extorted from the oil companies, but it was a grossly huge amount. Have the NDP indicated at all how they are going to deal with the backlash coming when the pile of feathers reaches the sky when the commies massive wind farms start cropping up? Oh yes, they are saving the planet with improved air quality. Funny how SCIENCE has exonerated the now phased out coal plants in Ontariowe. Next we will hear, "science east of the Alberta border is not valid. FUCK off ndp slime.

I believe if you look closely at nicotine ravaged Notley, the cloven hoofed enviro-whore, you can notice that she is starting to sprout her horns. She sent “little” piggy Shannon Phillips out to blatantly lie on her radio campaign, then sent “BIG” piggy Sarah Hoffman out for a phony photo op with an NDP plant accepting the rebate?? on the fraudulent carbon TAX that the scum NDP introduced (without referendum of course.) Interesting how the “levy”? was introduced and rebates were instant. Where did this windfall of cash come from? Now that this report is out, it will be interesting how the dippers will spin some kind of lie to dupe the citizens again. Remember their mantra, the science is settled and Don McIntyre is out to lunch and all you other deniers can just suck it up, accept that we are brilliant in killing the coal industry and making sure fossil fuels are done for good. You can all line up at the EI office for the half dozen green jobs that will be available from our climate change initiative. Yesterday would not be soon enough for these fools to be GONE.

No Notley won’t take heed, nor the rest of the brain dead, indoctrinated idiots or traitors…
There’s only one legitimate use for those ugly, environment/economy-destroying windmills – and that’s for crucifying the enemies of Canada, like the Notleys, the Wynne’s and the Trudeau’s in this Age of Lefty/liberal/Globalist Destruction…it’s not too hard to picture them going round, and round, and round, and round and round…

Gerry asked, “Will ST.Peter and ST.David from the C.B.C. have this on the national soon???”

If they do, it will be to sing the praises of destroying the coal, oil and gas industry. Certainly neither of those two “saints” of the green scam with mention how the green scam is destroying our economy to absolutely no other benefit whatsoever.

Hopefully with Trump’s opposition to this AGW lie the scam will be exposed for the global deception that it is and brought down … or at least a big dent in it.

Bill has it right and we export the clean coal tec. around the world.
Canada has a coal seam that extends across three provinces. enough coal for 300 years. it also happens to be some of the best grade of coal in the world.

All these green energy lefties have to say is “this will save the planet”, knowing very well it won’t make an iota of difference, but make them feel exonerated so they can pursue their dirty deed.
Notley & her sidekick are blind & tone deaf when it comes to anything that makes common sense & vilifies their stupid global warming agenda. Notley hired nothing but anti oil people & she herself protested the oil indusry, but all of a sudden she’s a big fan of pipelines & loves the oil sands, what a crock, the only reason she’s behind the pipeline now is because she saw the revenues dwindling & had no other choice but to go along with it because let’s face it she needs the money to pursue more green energy invesments.
Don’t hold your breath Sheila cause Notley won’t pay attention to those findings since she doesn’t agree with true science.

Thanks for the warnings SHEILA , but we know they’re going to erect their monuments — unbelievable destroyers

The other thing is Notley won’t take heed because she wants a CBC/Laurentian virtue signalling award, also known as The Order of Canada.

Ontario Coal phase out was conceived by morons of sub human intellect and driven by crony racketeers in the substandard technology of green energy – the result has been the virtual energy bankruptcy of the province.

Clean coal and carbon re-burn tech is the wave of future cost effective abundant on-demand energy production with virtual particulate free emission.

Sask-power’s Boundary Dam clean coal retrofit, carried out at a cost of $1.2 billion, has yielded a plant that can generate a 110 megawatts of power while scrubbing the flue gases of virtually all of the particulates a plant of its size and type would typically emit. The carbon dioxide emissions are rerouted and stored about two miles underground in a layer of brine-filled sandstone, but much of it will go by pipeline to nearby oil fields, where it will be used to extract additional oil from nearly depleted wells – THAT is high return energy efficiency.

Most everyone in power and energy production engineering KNOWS coal is a cheaper, more abundant more efficient fuel than petroleum and gas – all that is needed is efficient burn technology and flue capture tech used on mass scale projects – the cost of this energy is 1/50th per KWH of Green tech and will reduce consumer cost dramatically.

But there is no profit in efficient low cost energy for globalist crony green tech racketeers and their leftist government enablers.

@robert McLelland……….:-) Good one Robert….alright if I use it?

I’m sure if they were to do this in every province and territory eventually they would get different results.

Notley Likely. She is more interested in Cucumbers.

What about the fact that pointless virtue signalling makes you feel all warm and fuzzy inside?

I have asked thrice for base-line data regarding the effectiveness of the Alberta carbon extortion. Still waiting for the data, which one would think would be the first concern for a scientific evidence based policy. Mind you, I did ask this data from an invisible minister and MLA, but it shows the evidence is just as invisible as she.
