The Liberals have added nearly 400 pages of extra regulations to energy and energy infrastructure companies through their new pipeline killer, Bill C-69.
The new rules force the Canadian energy regulator to consider “the intersection of sex and gender with other identity factors” when determining the viability of an energy infrastructure or mining project.
However, the Liberals didn't do a single page of analysis about how all those new, bizarre guidelines would harm Alberta's economy.
We have the exclusive documents to prove it.
We asked Natural Resources Canada to provide us any “copies of economic analysis of the impact of Bill C-69 on Alberta's oil and gas sector since November 4th 2015.”
The response was astonishing:
“Please be advised that a complete search was made within Natural Resources Canada and we wish to inform you that our department does not have any information in response to your request."
In four years of Liberals threatening a new law, drafting a new law, introducing a new law and debating a new law, there's not a single document, email, briefing note, or text message about the impacts of the new law to be found!
The word gender appears six times in the final draft of C-69.
Conversely, the word “competitiveness” appears only twice in the 392 page monstrosity and it is not one of the key factors to be considered by the energy regulator panel.
C-69 is not a bill about the economy or business certainty, as the Liberals love to claim. Nor is it a bill about science and safety.
It's a bill about using social justice as an excuse to block economic development in Alberta.
C-69 is a perfect encapsulation of the last 4 years of Trudeau liberalism and of the Liberals' disdain for the West.
We can see through plain documentary evidence, we aren’t even an afterthought.
