Blue Skies Ontario: Moving beyond party politics to grow the centre right

Brian LilleyArchive

I spoke to more than just politicians when I was at the Progressive Conservative Party convention. One of the people I spoke with was conservative activist, Jamie Ellerton.

Jamie has started a group called “Blue Skies Ontario” which he hopes will fill a vacuum in the market-place of ideas when it comes to politics in the province.

The group describes itself as “The idea incubator for Ontario’s centre-right”. Their goal will be to spread support for small “c” conservative ideas in the culture and help people recognize the benefits of free markets, individual freedom and limited government.

Jamie Ellerton surely must be aware that Liberal strategist and co-founder of Canada 2020, Susan Smith, is also co-founder of Bluesky Strategy Group Inc. The name of Jamie’s group is eerily similar, sure to cause much confusion and definitely needs a rethink.

Go Wynne Go! You would be very popular here in Greater Vancouver, not in the homophobic hinterlands of Ontario

If the West ever separates, I want in. And I would like Brad Wall for PM.

More like Pie in the Sky Ontario. Ontario voters are the dumbest twits walking the earth. Just ask your average Ontario voter on the street, whether they be blue collar or white collar, a question about what their government is doing and what their tax dollars are being used for and they haven’t a clue. They read a headline and this becomes the basis for their opinions. They buy hook, line, and sinker all the left’s BS. I have lived in 4 provinces and I have never seen this much absolutely stunning stupidity. I really think that Ontario has to crash and burn badly and be driven right into the ground(this will happen soon) before these idiots finally wake up and grow some grey matter.

I will never vote PC provincially as long as Patrick Brown pushes the global warming agenda.

Andrew, 10 hrs. ago I couldn’t agree with you more; wait for Ont. to collapse and go bankrupt before we do anything. However I heard terrible news that Provinces aren’t allowed to go broke. That means the rest of us will have to bail them out with our money. Imagine BC paying for Wynne’s 8 hr. kindergarten and useless wind turbines all over the province.
Another reason to separate.

Agreed Bill. The Left have “war rooms”, and use the justice system to bash opponents over the head, along with violent protests and psycholoogy. We need to do the same. Blue Skies should be gearing up for criminal charges against any number of Lefty’s!

Just more taking side streets to avoid driving past the grave yard. Fer Gawd sakes don’t talk about the monster in the living room – the debt which will NEVER be paid and debt service costs which will make tax slaves of the middle class for generations – not to mention the impending insolvency as the current fools in the PMO shut down the only wealth engines paying into equalization which is all that is propping up the bankrupt east.

What is this PC sunny ways
Tory rainbow unicorn land group therapy
WTF hire cheerleaders why doncha

When Ontario does defaults as it is destined to happen, who bails them out? The rest of Canada?? Will the people of Ontario finally realize the Liberal brand is one of gross incompetence and corruption?? Unfortunately the criminals within the Liberal mafia horde will be long gone with their 6 figure entitlements. Will MSM finally report the news as fact? Not likely as they’re in line on the gravy train with their Liberal mafia friends. Will anyone from the Liberal mafia be held accountable for their actions? Not a chance in hell as our Judicial system is corrupted with incompetent Liberal shrills. Bottom line is Canada is screwed thanks to Liberal lies and gross mismanagement.

You could be right Andrew, the unions have such a strangle hold on the Gov’t that the only way to break it could be bankruptcy.

Andrew. You are probably right and just wishful thinking on my part. The PC’s look whipped already but at least they could do is put up a fight instead of talking about this pie in sky crap.

There is no point to winning Ontario – Ontario has to go bankrupt – ie: Ontario debt goes to default – before there is anything worth building.

Ontario is an government employment state – big unions, bloated government, a lousy work ethic and rules up the ying-yang to stifle business and entrepreneurs.

When this shit hole collapses, the Independents will have their chance to start over.

The Ontario PC’s really need to get out of Toronto for a few days and take a look at it from a distance. The commie agenda of Wynne has a solid grip on Toronto and will probably win again if the PC’s don’t wake up and start campaigning now. Get out on the street and knock on doors, distribute flyers, do fund raisers, seek out funding support, advertise all of the Liberal failures and corruption, mobilize volunteers, demonize the Liberals every single day, etc. One more term for Wynne and Ontario could be finished and drag the rest of the country down. WAKE UP TORONTO!
