Boris Johnson going to diversity training after Burqa comments?

Jack BuckbyRebel Contributor

The backlash against Boris Johnson after his remarks about burqas still hasn’t ended, with party leaders now looking at sending the former Foreign Secretary on a diversity training course. Seriously!

Amidst all the scandal, some other famous voices have piped in with their opinions, too. Rowan Atkinson, of Mr. Bean fame, has said he liked the joke and doesn’t want Boris to apologise.

On the other side, the former Mayor of London, Ken Livingstone, has commented that Boris should be sacked from the Tory party. Ironic, coming from a man known for his anti-Semitic comments!

Good point below, Liza Rosie: the burka is not a religious symbol, but a cultural symbol. Across the Islamic world, women of many cultures traditionally wore (and many still wear) a variety of costumes, associated with their own cultures. Even in present-day Pakistan, where today so many women are made to wear the burka and the niqab (face covering), the indigenous costume for women in much of the region had been until very recently both colourful and far less constricting than the burka, with a simple scarf that could be flung across the face, which was otherwise left free, serving for modesty. The niqab (with burka) originates in the Najd region of Saudi Arabia, the heartland of the Salafi fundamentalist form of Islam.
If anything, criticism of the burka and niqab is “ethnicist”.
Having said that, Boris Johnson is unlikely to be criticising the burka and niqab from the perspective of firmly held principles: he has radically altered his “principled” views on so many issues over the years, that I doubt he has any lasting principles. What he has is intelligence and cunning and a desire for power. He knows that in south-east England, which has been subjected to high immigration for years, he cannot go far wrong in speaking to those who wish an end to immigration. With this in mind, he targets the burka and niqab – because it is far easier to pick out an immigrant wearing a burka-niqab, than an immigrant whose skin is the same colour as yours, and who dresses the same way.
The criticism of the burka and niqab is Boris Johnson code for criticism of high immigration to Britain. And I’m 100% behind him on this.
For those who are interested (if I may be permitted to say), I write about ethnicity and culture from a British perspective in my Blog piece, “Ethnicity & Culture: Why the New Right worries about Ethnicity”. https://rabbiedeoir.com/blog/ethnicity-culture-why-the-new-right-worries-about-ethnicity

Never forget that the burka is NOT a religious symbol. Not that the burka wouldn’t be fair game if it were a religious symbol, but it is not.

I like Boris Johnson more everyday. I love his look and his mischievous sense of humour. His ‘tea time’ for the dumbass reporters sitting outside his house all day was priceless. Where does he get his hair cut? Its awesome.

His letterbox comment is spot on, but He should be loud and proud about banning the burka, and complaining loud and proud about immigration. I was surprised to hear Jack say he wasn’t doing that.

To the letterbox comment I would like to add:
batman suit
walking body bags
walking coffins
burnt tree stumps
black ghosts
black kkk sheets
wife cages
BBQ covers
bee keeper suits
black garbage/trash/refuse bags
(the outfits not the occupant)

I feel bad for the occupants, however if I can’t see your face I don’t trust you and that means my first impulse is to remove myself from your path. Maybe that’s the whole idea of them is anyway. What would happen if we walked up to where their faces are supposed to be and tried to peer in and engage? We’d probably be hauled off to HRC for racism or some stupid made up offence. They are not kidding when they say they won’t assimilate. The burka is about as exclusionary as it gets. It certainly offends me and I want Canada to ban it.

Look at all the Remoaners jump, lest they be labeled anti Muslim. OK to spit on the Jewish people but don’t upset Islam.

Boris, who went to Eton and they want to send him on a do it yourself course. Don’t think so.
